That IS a nasty wrap around that pole, and I'm really surprised that pole isn't on the ground. That's some scary solid pole-planting right there!

Holy crap. I thought most of those were designed to break at the base to prevent that sort of thing.

About a year ago some kid ran from the cops a block from my house. Super bumpy road if you are even a bit over the speed limit. His Honda met a small tree at at least 120. Cut one side of the car off.. almost a clean cut. That sort of tiny tree just lost some bark.

Crazy stuff happens to cars when you hit things going beyond what crumple zones, etc can or will handle.
