Sorry but I didn't know where to post this. I've heard all the horror stories about waiting so long for a new Ranger and wonder if those other brands are having the same issues. You know the GM twins or the Ta**ma and such. I seem to see more of those on the new dealer lots than any of the Ford products. Thanks and mods please move this to the proper topic thread.

It takes forever to get a truck/car now a days due to part constraints, but I think ford mishandles it the most.

People think X manufacturer mishandles it worst than any other manufacturer based on the forum they are part of.

Having now been a part of more than two active communities at once for vehicles I can tell you for all the complaints I've encountered here, at least as far as the online userbase goes, Chevrolet/GM owners are the biggest bunch of temper tantrum man children I've encountered yet.

This is purely anecdotal, but to me personally it seems the intelligence level is generally on average lower between the two communities as well.

And they don't like being called on it either. Needless to say I've not a member of that other community by involuntary choice. lol

Won't argue there. I had a 1st gen GMC canyon and the complaints they had there was bad. I'm sure it's worse for the new gen.

If a small plastic trim piece in the engine bay is known to have fitment issues, there will be a 20 page thread about it. Some guy builds and fabricates a baja race suspension and show cases it he might break 2 pages after a few weeks. Maybe.

A large swath of account creations over there for the new generation are 1 post complaint accounts. They don't have any intention of contributing to the community long term, they just want an echo chamber to feel better about their bitching.

The powers that be didn't take a liking to to me pointing that out (with numbers to back the claim).

Edit: Because screw having a long term healthy growing community when clicks = $$$

I'm not sure if there any forums left anywhere that are not owned by some umbrella media corp. Even this forum is owned and operated by an umbrella corp.

Honestly it just depends on what you want, how much you are willing to pay(Over MSRP that is) and if you are willing to wait. I myself have spoke with some Nissan Dealership personal and the only vehicles they are having trouble getting are the Versa(don't ask me why), the Z and the GTR. Mind you the last two are specialty vehicles. The Frontier they have on the lot and if you want to order one the way you want it I was informed it is about a 1 month turnaround time.

Car shopping with my daughter today and VW near us is short on Jettas. Salesman check in Ohio and there weren't may to be had. Asked about delivery times on orders and he said it could be 6 weeks or 6 months.
Oh, and they delete items also due to chip shortages.
Toyota had a few Corollas and Kia had a few Fortes. Living close to an "auto mile", I can tell you there are not as many new cars on any of the manufacturers lots as there were pre-pandemic. As I drive by, I see used cars where the new cars used to be.
Not sure inventories will ever go back to were they used to be.

The only full dealerships in Saskatoon seem to be the Dodge/Chrysler lots. They seem to have a lot of new vehicles in stock. The closest Ford dealership has lots of F150's of various sorts, but next to nothing else for new.

The manufacturers don't want to go back to having large volumes sitting on lots. Guess having inventory is expensive and they have to heavily discount them at the end of the year or offer super low financing on slow moving models to move them. I worked for six months last year at a dealership an they wanted the inventory. Sure they max the profit on each model but you can't sell what you don't have an a lot of potential buyers walked looking for something to take home that day.

before the strike the local dodge dealer I drive by every day had it's lots full. They added on to their showroom during this. The ford dealer a mile away put all the new and used cars in the same area to make it look full of new cars. The lot behind where used inventory is usually kept is empty. One of my friends is a ram fanboy an always said dodge isn't having a problem building cars. We said they build them but don't sell them, no one wants them that's why the lots are full.
