What is that noise that sounds like an electric motor running when I open the driver door?

It's the actuator on the turbo. You can see it from the passenger front wheel well. Have someone open the driver door while you look. Assume it is running a precheck of some sort.

Noise when you open the door? Is your wife sitting inside waiting for you? Wives aren't usually known for waiting quietly ?

Is it normal for the high pitched nails on chalk board sound?

Mine hurts the ears a little... Like it's not lubricated.

Every one I have encountered sounds that way.

beat me to it.

Depending on your age it could be your body making straining sounds. I have a clicky knee.
That's me, moaning and groaning getting in AND out.
