I'm sure the OP appreciates him chiming in.Airline Tech should start charging troubleshooting fees on this forum.
Hey, I actually thought it was that at the dealer because the battery was bad so I had them take $200 off the tag on order for me to pick up a new battery and install it myself but sadly it did the same thing. I should have brought it right back since I thought it wasn't normal but didn't know that 100 percent at the time.I could be talking out of my ass here but...
That sounds like the low-battery chime.
My truck never chimed like that until I let it sit for a week without driving it. The battery still has the juice to start the truck, but the truck senses the battery isn't at some predefined level to keep power to systems that stay powered when it sits. I bet you'll start getting a message on your center screen now, intermittently, saying the battery saver was engaged while you weren't using your truck.
Is it the fast chime (1/2 sec) like his video?Confirmed this am. Lights in auto. No key in ignition. Driver door open and no chime. Insert key and chime starts with door open.
Ok I think that must be the issue, I pulled fuse 18 and chime stops right away. Also putting key in and out before pulling fuse the chime stayed the same. Thank you for the help. The issue is either the Ignition Switch itself, stuck tumbler - not springing back out as key is removed or the wiring has been jumped (between the power feed into the ignition switch) and the (Output - feed to the BCM)
It takes this circuit to complete for Engine Start, with key removed the (Output - Feed to the BCM should be dead) - So this at least confirms the circuit is being completed or the truck would not even start.
So, this circuit is staying - Live, and it sees this as Key in Ignition
With this truck getting repaired (New Ignition - Switch) it could be a Faulty new switch or technician missed the wiring being jumped or wiring damage that is allowing the circuit to stay live.
The chime is the same.....the rate of the chime is more consistent with 2nd video posted. Is it the fast chime (1/2 sec) like his video?
The headlight chime is slower but the chime tone is exact same
