Hopefully, Ford is taking note that owners/future owners are noticing the cost cutting.

I will try to get an earlier run of the 6G Ranger. Maybe 2nd or 3rd year before Ford starts to figure out how to make higher profits. Hopefully, by then Covid will be a non issue. I would purchase the lesser XL or XLT, but may have to move up to the Lariat to get the Tremor and PHEV options. Not to impressed they are removing some of the sound deadening.
If I was purchasing a last year of the 5G Ranger I better be getting a great price at the Dealer.
Besides the people on this forum I'd bet no one else knows about this. There are over 100,000 Rangers out there and just over 9,000 members so 10% . I'm sure every auto manufacturer has cut something out of their vehicles so it's not just Ford but we only see this as it's posted here.

Sorry but it's hilarious those that want to bash Ford for this but it's been going on for years with every product out there. Have you seen what a package of cookies looks like? How about ice cream, crackers, or spaghetti sauce as these have been shrinking for years yet you're paying more for them. I'm as OCD as they come and I could care less if my handle was black or painted but I guess some just like to complain about anything. That wasn't directed at you Brian @Scooter just an observation of a select few who constantly bash Ford about their cost cutting moves when they buy every day items that have been cut over the years too. Now if they put in a small engine or an 8 speed tranny I would be upset but these items are trivial.

Looks great. Here was my Lariat. Liked the look. New truck

Just seems if they are painting the door handles they would paint the tailgate handle. Kind of like having antique brass door pulls in your whole house then brushed nickel on one door. After all if you are buying a Lariat it's likely over a 40k purchase.
Yeah, I see your point. In the event, if they are going to have black ones in future across the board, at least it will match the other black parts on the truck such as tires, running boards, etc.

Unless they replace them with a damper.:bandit:
I was trying my best to keep this damper free. ? Since you brought it up they should incorporate one into the taillight housing like on the F150.

Ford isn't painting the tail gate handle any more! Oh my bewbs are so tender and sore!

Seriously....
If you are the kind of man that drives a Ranger this change should largely go unnoticed.
Like color matched Tailgate Handles? Fine - Paint it and claim your Alpha status as a primo-customizer. You conform the truck to your expectations, not the other way around. Be master of that domain.

Don't care cause you have better things to conquer? Good. That's why you bought a ranger. Go climb a mountain and kill a bear with a Bowie Knife. Let his head hang over the tail gate and no one will notice the color doesn't match when you drive back into town.

But getting upset at Ford for giving you a tailgate handle that doesn't match your body color is like the people that do naked yoga to tan their butt-hole so it recharges their chakra and matches their all body tan.
Thanks for the laugh...Damn it man, you shouldn't hold back what you think, it's bad for your blood pressure.

You know that just made me think. You know how when you flick that tailgate handle open and it snaps back and hits the latch assembly? There is yet another DAMPER opportunity!!! I always knew there was room for double dampers on the Ranger tailgate somewhere...

I don't think of the observation of the unpainted tail gate handle as a gripe. Being observant is becoming a lost human attribute. I am a Trades person. I am Self Aware. I use my peripheral vision and know what's going on around me. It Upsets me when I run into a "Captain Oblivious"

People actually tan their buttholes? Sounds to be in direct contrast to the folks out there that bleach their turd choppers. Can you imagine the vanity it takes to want to do either???

"The answer is always a tailgate Damper!"
The DeeZee dampers work perfectly on these trucks and take 10 minutes to install.

For the record, my response wasn't directed at the OP or intended to be about complaining too much. It was over the top in an effort to make a joke or be in jest.

Officially, my position is: Meh - Don't care. It isn't going to make me look at buying a Colorado next time I go truck shopping. Color matched tail gate handles are not a priority to me. I think there is a list on here some where about all of the things I'd rather see on a Ranger and color matched tailgate handles still doesn't make the list at all.

But I get it. This is America and America is (or should be) about Freedom. And if making sure your tailgate handle is painted is important to you, then have at it. I'm not making your truck payments so I don't get to say what goes on your truck.
What about Canada? Well we aren’t exactly “free” up here so....
