It is rainy season and opening my door gets rain on the outer edge of the front seat . Can not even think of a cure . I guess the manufacturers just save money by not having drip rails on trucks . Wish I had a cure , any ideas ? The outside door visors are great with the door closed but with an open door rain or even snow drops on the seat . Oh yeah do not say move to the desert .

My F150 does this too, and I've had it for over 2 years.

For over two years, my left butt cheek just rides wet after/during heavy rain.... You get used to it after a while.

Welcome to 1985?

Drip rails have been disappearing for decades. Blame CAFE standards.

One of the reasons I get "leather" equipped vehicles. Simple wipe of the hand and it's gone.

Snow is easier, clear snow BEFORE entering vehicle.

I don't think there's a vehicle in current production with drip rails.

We have a drip management system. Recessed black trim runs overhead and the windshield glass to A-pillar gap is supposed to ack as a gutter. Problem is they don’t connect so some h20 comes over the bodywork.

Same thing here brother. But, it's still better than my Wrangler. It has drip rail on the hard top. Problem is they fall short of moving the water to the windshiled. They just dump it onto my left leg when I open the door. I have to be careful, cause if I move to soon it makes it look like I peed in my little britches. :)

I think they were better at acting as clamping points for roof racks than they were at channeling water. ?

My OCD would require that i also have a wet right butt cheek , to get used to it I mean...

solve your problem with self adhesive caulking strips.
run them up and over the doors on the roof.
Or, a trip to Home Depot for some window and door drip cap and a pop rivet tool - followed by a trip to Auto Zone for a rattle-can of Sabre touch-up paint.

Bingo-bango, problem solved.

Hi Doug,

Drip rails were a NVH nightmare for wind whistle.... Glad they are gone.... Drip Rails and right front fender Antennas...wind whistle generators... Ever wonder why the Ranger Antenna of the past had a course stainless steel wrap?... Yep....to break up the standing wave created by the fender mounted antenna.....

Best,
Phil

So, is that what this extra wrapped wire is about?
