I went to Ford's website and noticed that all 2026 Rangers are S/Crew designs, I guessing that Ford dumped the S/Cab design with the 6th gen design.
Pity, I personally do not need 4 doors and prefer the look of a S/Cab, however I guessing the market for a S/Cab is very small.
Here's my 2020 Lariat, it turned 7 years old on Jan. 17, 2026, it is probably the only '20 in existence with the lowest mileage, <500 miles, proof of this available upon request.

I was holding out hope they would release it. They had a 6G scab that was seen in the wild in the US, and they have it in the rest of the world, but alas, it looks to be dead for the US market. sigh.

Guess I'll be keeping my 5G until the wheels fall off or the transmission explodes.

Wow, I remember a while back you said you had low miles but I didn't realize it was this low. lol

I think the Scab is like the manual transmission where it only appeals to a very low number and it's not worth them manufacturing them anymore.

Aloha Sir!
Yes it's been awhile since I posted at all in this forum, it's good to hear from you again!
The last time I checked I think the odometer read all of 480 miles.
Indeed, it seems that the S/Cab has gone the way of the unicorn, just like manual shift transmissions.
Indeed the present generation does not know how to drive a manual, as well as write in cursive or being able to even read it!
They are truly handicapped...I feel sorry for them.

Aloha Jeff! Hope all has been well with you out there in paradise? It's good to hear from you too and please stop by more often.

Sadly you're right and many now can't even tell time on an analog clock and need a digital one. Really is sad what they're not teaching kids anymore.

Mahalo Dave for the kind words!
True story here: about a month ago there was a small crowd of onlookers, including a HPD police officer circled around a battered Dodge van in the parking lot for a coffee shop which I patronize, all of them were perplexed with the Dodge which appeared to be a plumbers vehicle.
The van was blocking access to the parking lot, the driver was nowhere to be seen, however the keys were in the ignition. Not one of the onlookers, including the cop knew how to drive it, it was a "three on the tree" setup, I asked the cop if he'd like for me to move it and to where, he eagerly agreed.
I recall one of the onlookers remarking "it has a shift lever like an automatic, but why 2 brake pedals"...lol
Once I moved the errant van out of the way the group applauded me and called out "bravo" and so on, you'd think that they thought that I was some kind of superhero!
Truth be told, I learned how to drive standard shift on my Dad's archaic '47 Ford panel van many years ago, I was 10 or 11 years old at the time, the Ford was a "three on the tree" setup as well.

I think that you are probably correct, but I won't buy a 4 door pickup unless it is a Scab. Seats are out (Seat Delete), and it is perfect for us. I still think that this may be my last new auto purchase. I tend to get 20 years out of my cars. The 2005 Ranger is my fallback plan, just in case the 2020 doesn't last as long. When I checked the 2005 for DTC, there were very few components to view, 4 or 5 of them maybe... not like the rows of elecronic components in the 2020.

Buy a manual transmission vehicle and it will never be stolen. It may be stripped, but it won't be stolen!

Ford discontinued the SCab because of low demand and new impact requirements. Toyota still builds a Tacoma Extended cab, but with no rear doors! The 2026 Nissan Frontier King Cab does have proper rear suicide doors. ROW markets, Ranger is available with a regular cab and long box and Australia and New Zealand get a Ranger Super Duty in Reg. and Super Crew bodies.

I'd be ok with 6G Crew Cab Raptor, but that's it lol.
I see no reason right now to upgrade but if I was going to that's about the only one I'd want too. I just can't justify the price when my Tremor does everything I need it to and more.

I saw what looked to be a full size bed on a newer Taco today and thought no wonder they are eating Fords lunch in that segment. Thing is if Ford offered the long bed on the Ranger it would take sales away from the F-150 and that isn't gonna happen.
