New to me, 2022 Ford Ranger Lariat

Nice truck! I just got a black 6g and love it.

The auto stop/start delete was left off because they ran out of chips or whatever component was necessary to install them....so they just deleted them from a bunch and took some $$ of the sticker. I had a 2022 Lariat and mine was removed for that reason. I have it on the 6g and I hate it....have to turn it off every time.

ASS is universally hated and I believe recent legislation made it not mandatory?

I am happy It was deleted from factory. In my last two cars I did the mod where it automatically disabled it when the car started.

But did a couple mods over the week, hotter days I wanted to stay in more.


Replaced the vanity mirrors with LEDs

Also the license plate lights

Added blind spot mirrors, I really like the drivers side, I didn’t like that mirror as much, the passenger one with the curvature was already pretty good. But this is just what I was looking for, I wish the truck came with the mirrors my 14 fusion had, where the blind spot mirror is built in.

Most expensive mod of them all, starting to use 91, definitely seems to run smoother, plus I don’t drive that much, so it works for me.

I ended up returning the AFE quantum air intake / K & N cold air was on backorder. So I ended up with just a k&n drop in. I don’t want to deal with warranty issues, since I have the ford gold or whatever. Plus if I decide down the road to get the ford performance tune, then I am doing good. AFE scoop, and engine cover all working well. I am getting the big mouth intake scoop,

I would love if the original owner is on here, haha. But I wanted to post about it here. Generally I am pretty active in forums of the cars I own, I have had a bunch of subarus (WRX, Crosstreks, Forester XT, legacy GT) and Honda (Passport Trailsport, Pilot Trailsport)
My wife and I have been wanting to get a truck for a couple years, I was looking at tacomas, and canyons which lead to Mavericks, and they didnt feel truck like, so I tried the Ranger, fell in love with the Ranger, and the dealership a couple miles from my house had a 22 Ranger Lariat. Here is what I know about it so far, I am loving it so far.

Here is what was factory optioned:
2022 Lariat SuperCab in black
Equipment group 501A
FX4 package
Black appearance package
Also I didnt know this would be an option, but auto start stop removal.

The previous owner did have a bunch done. The dealership shared some of the upgrades, and I am sure I will find more. Over all I am very happy with the look of it.

Tinted windows (which I think the drivers and passenger sides dont match, so I will get these redone)
Wheels are Icon Matte Black Vector 6
Tires are Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T

A couple mods I am already planning
Lte connected Dash cam, I was able to keep it from the pilot
A safe, I have had these in all my cars, love them. I am hoping for an under the back seat one since the center console on the ranger is tiny
Might go to a digital review mirror, jury is still out on that one.

Wife wanted to test out taking some car photos. Ng truck became the tester. Got my plates transfered over.

Did a round of leather cleaner and conditioner, getting the softness back into the seats.

Removed the drone. It had too many issues for me. I swapped it to the rexing. So far so good. I can remote view live front and back, and it monitors ignition on, ignition off events

I have always wanted KC lights on a car, I got a steal of a deal, $20 for this pair. I just used existing mounts on the roll bar, just to see if I like it. I haven't wired them yet, I wanted to make sure I am ok with their looks / sound / rattle whatever before wired.

I am on the fence about it, I think if I kept them this size, I would have to do 2-4 more in a row, or swap out for larger ones

I like it, gives it that old school look. If you put two or three more on it, it would look similar to the first run of BIGFOOT monster trucks from the 80s, I believe that those had five KC lights on the light bars. Very cool

Two is not enough.
Four should be.
Six might be too much for no bigger than our Rangers are.

I have been wanting a tonneau cover for a little. The roll bar said I am "tonneau cover compatible" I knew no matter what I was going to have to modify the rails.
I was thinking what to do, and if it was worth trying an expensive one, well I saw the $299 deal at the leer website so I figured I would give it a try. I put it on today, just had to drill 6 passthrough holes on the roll bar, everything worked as expected after that.

I swapped floor mats, which is on another thread lol, and boring so I didnt grab any new photos to put into this thread. But my Rokblokz showed up in the mail yesterday with grandma christmas money paying for them lol.

While I was under the truck mounting the flaps. I noticed this little guy. I entered the number(s) and didnt find the most details about it. But I am assuming its a uhual tow kit, and a 7pin harness already done. Which is a win, I am down the road going to have a small flat trailer we use from time to time if needed.
