This may end up being my go to when the 7g Ranger (hopefully will keep this one long enough to leapfrog 6g) inevitably gets too big.

I want a Maverick Grabber small pickup, with a 302 V8!
More seriously: rumors so far make it to be a unibody, not body-on-frame. Probably enough for my needs, honestly.

Just another rendering based on the assumption that it'll be based on the Escape/Bronco Sport platform. As with any rendering, I don't take much stock in it. That being said, I wouldn't mind having a small Ford truck that looks like that.
I thought our new Ranger was to big... but now that we've had it for 8 months... no way I would want to get a smaller truck. And if it's a uni-body... ugh, no thanks.

If it's like the ridgeline and they only have a four door short bed option, I'm not interested. And that's probably what they'll do to save money on variants.

Needs to be a 2 door. A 4 door truck that small means a useless mini-bed.

Back in the day, I briefly considered buying a new Rabbit or Dodge Rampage pickup.

To each his own. The whole body-on-frame thing isn't as important to me. Smaller wouldn't work for us now, with the 3 dogs and everything, but maybe by the time we need a new truck smaller will be better. I think in the end, the beauty of this is that it gives the option to avoid the "bigger, faster, and more powerful is better" thing, which isn't always what all of us want, even though the automakers seem to think it is.

If (and it's a huge IF, for sure), I was wanting to go any smaller than the Ranger, especially with a FWD platform, I'd have to have a manual transmission option and I sincerely doubt Ford is even considering it. All the articles are saying eight-speed slushbox only.

Looks like a photo of the Maverick Tailgate Has Leaked

Not that I want one, but I am very interested in seeing where this truck goes.
