Hello everyone! Currently considering getting the new Ranger, and replacing my 17 Fiesta ST. While I do love this car, it just cannot do off road. I cringe when I just look at a dirt/gravel road in the car. And Colorado has plenty of unpaved surfaces to wander down. But I do love the Ecoboost engine!

Looking to get an FX4 in a few months I think.
HI Mitch,

I hope you will find the Ranger a good match for you, but recommend you drive one at the dealer...and not just "around the block" to make sure you and Ranger are a good match. There is a thread on the history of the FX4 which I created. FX4 is not for those folks wishing for a billiard table smooth ride on pavement as it is tuned for off road and many folks criticize it as too bouncy. You might find a non FX4 is more to your liking.

Best.

If I wanted a cush ride, I certainly picked the wrong car for that. The Ranger FX4 cannot possibly be harsher or bouncier than my current Fiesta ST(Which Ford did a stellar job on, BTW).

And yes, I read the history of the FX4, and several threads on here about it. The biggest reason I want it, is because I actually want to go offroad more on the trails here in Colorado.

Picked up a CPO 2019 Lariat with the FX4 & sport appearance packages this past weekend. Coming from an off-road modified Subaru Forester... The Ranger is substantially more capable in stock form. Already have a long list of upgrades planned. Here's the truck in stock form, it won't stay this way for long :D

Congrats, Sharp looking truck. Can't wait to see how you mod it. Plenty of ideas on this forum to spend your money on. If I didn't need a front plate in Wisconsin that bracket would be the first thing to go. your probably waiting for plates yet, right.

I'm partial to my lightening blue, but black is sharp too.

Crappy picture. But just bought a new ranger. That night ordered leveling kit, wheel spacers and 33’s. Tonight I ordered the raptor grill. Once I get my BDS crash bars I’ll install everything. Looking for a topper or rack system for the back. Thinking ARE topper right now. Traded my Sprinter Van in for it.

Thanks man! Yeah this forum gave me a long list... In NH you need front plates unfortunately, waiting on them to come in. Blue is a great color.

This is what I'm calling stage 1 of my build:
3" Eibach pro truck lift w/ 1" rear blocks
BDS or Fabtech UCAs (can't decide)
Black rhino Chamber wheels wrapped in 34" Patagonias
Front Runner Slimline bed rack
Go rhino D6 slider steps

There's also a stage 2 & 3....

Long time lurker, finally set up an account. I've had my 2019 Ranger XLT w/ Sport package for just over a year now. I have a long list of mods that I plan on doing, most of which I picked out by looking through these forums.

Done so far:
Blackout Ford emblems
Go Rhino RB20 Running Boards
Add Black Vinyl "Ranger" lettering to front, back, and dash
Front and Rear Gatorback mud flaps

To Do List:
Ford Performance Fox Suspension Kit
265/70/17 tires (keeping factory wheels)
1 inch wheel spacers on all 4
Roush CAI
Exhaust (Borla, Flowmaster, Ford upgrade, not sure yet)
Raptor style grille

2020 Ranger SuperCrew 4X4 301A Sport and Tech Lightning Blue
Just picked up a 2020 SuperCrew XLT 4x4 301A with Sport and Tech packages in “Lightning Blue”. I’m 6’4 and coming from a Toyota the difference in comfort is night and day, which was my main motivation for getting this truck.
