Hi, everybody! This is Marc from Delaware, and I just ordered a well-loaded Lariat in "Lightening Blue" with extended cab, 4X4, Off-road, black appearance package, B&O sound and every other tech feature that is offered, etc. Basically, I wanted to get everything on it from the get-go and avoid the time and expense of after-market improvements. I just plan to use it for my daily ride and occasional vacation trips locally. I probably will never take it off-road, but it is nice to know that one has the capacity just in case: winter weather, potholes, obstacles, etc. My current ride is a 2014 Ford Explorer Limited with the naturally aspirated 6. We have been very happy with it except for poor mileage (17.8 combined average) and the low clearance: the front end even gets caught in parking lots, which is annoying. I have driven an F-150 and loved it, but as an urban resident with a tiny garage, it is just not practical for us. We are scheduled for a late-August delivery, which, from what I read in the Forum, may be a bit optimistic. I am grateful to all the Forum members who have reported their experiences with their new vehicles, as I had had some concerns about ride quality, mileage, etc., and you have for the most part put those to rest.
If you just ordered it, late August seems to be a realistic delivery date. That would be approximately 16 weeks, which seems to be typical for many (but certainly not all) members. It seems like there have been two things that have held up deliveries:
  1. Lower trim levels - it seemed like Ford wanted to produce the higher trim levels first, so XL and lesser equipped XLTs got delayed
  2. Some sort of quality hold or parts shortage post build. Some trucks were held for a month or more after they were built - there were various explanations for these -either they failed some QC check and then had to wait for parts or something else. Information has been very poor on things like that.
I waited 16 weeks and 1 day for my truck and it was worth the wait. I spent two months prior to ordering doing a bunch of research on what truck I wanted to buy, and then once I decided on the Ranger, spent WAY too long deciding on which model and packages to buy. It was hard to wait, but it is totally worth it.

Welcome!

Hi all. Newbie here. Ordered Lariat 4x2 March 7th. Showing as in production this week estimated delivery looks like Memorial Day weekend. This will be my 2nd Ranger as I had a new 1988 regular cab long bed STX. Owned a few full size pickups since then. I appreciate the postings that have been made of manuals, brochures, other info etc while I wait

Hello,
Ordered a lighting blue XLT, super crew, 4x4 with sport appearance package on March 6th. It’s blend date is May 4th, Star Wars day. Estimated delivery is May 26th. Had a F-150 for 15 years before getting and Escape in ‘15. Excited to get back to driving a truck. I really have missed it.

Hey all! Bryan here from Washington (PNW...not DC). FINALLY ordered my Ranger yesterday after a month of research and decision-making. I'm getting a Lariat SuperCrew FX4 with Black Appearance Pkg in Lightning Blue. I was originally leaning toward buying a Colorado, but after driving the Ranger just over a month ago, I quickly changed my mind.

Seeing some of the comments and replies, looks like the wait will be longer than predicted. Dealer said could be as soon as 6 weeks (which I didn't REALLY believe - thought more like 8-10). Now it's looking more like 16? Oh well, it'll be worth the oh-so-agonizing wait.

It seems like some of the ones ordered recently are getting built quicker. So 8-10 still might be a possibility. Once you have a build date and VIN from your dealer you will have a much better idea. I'm in Portland and it took 21 days to get here after it was built. So you can kind of guess at how long it will be based on that.

Previous owner of 2009 f150 fx4 screw. Traded in for Ingot silver xlt sport 4x4 screw off the showroom floor. Loving it so far. Waiting for mechanic to fix dyno so tuning software can be fine tuned but even a basic tune on 87 is a ball of fire.

Thanks, Rob. I like the idea of 8-10 better than 12-16. How long was your wait from order to built-date?

Mine was one day shy of 16 weeks from ordering to delivery. But I ordered at the end of the year which messed things up a bit (shutdowns, etc). You will have a MUCH better idea of how long once you get your VIN assigned. It just seems like things have been speeding up a little bit in the last month or so. I'm guessing the line is producing more trucks more consistently now. I know they were struggling at the beginning to work out the kinks in the assembly line since it was all new.

Thanks again for the info. I'll be sure add pics once I've got her parked in the driveway.

My name is Matthew and I am from North Texas. I had my 2002 Ranger Edge for over 15 years and was thrilled to have the opportunity again this year to own one again! They are even more awesome now than before and that's saying something!
