Hi Everyone,

Joined 3 weeks ago and have been loving all the information I found so far. Exterior mod posts helped me make color choices for the tailgate and grille decals I want to order. Ordered my truck last Sat - Saber Lariat 4x4 Sport Crew with stone interior, technology and tow packages. I qualified for priority build date. We'll see how that works. Not holding my breath though. Would have rather had the $750. Only incentive I have is the Farm Bureau $500. As excited as I am about my new ride, it will be hard to let go of my current truck - '06 Ranger FX4 4-door with 43K. I added a F-series backup camera and had heated seats and remote start installed. It gets compliments where ever it goes. It might stay in the family; my brother thinks he wants it.

Hey everyone -

Picked up my new Ranger a couple weeks back. I'm in Chicago - mostly using for weekend fun out of the city & road trips where I can haul some gear. Stock except for the tint for now but should have some fun additions on there soon.

Hi everyone. My name is John and have been reading this Forum for a couple of weeks. I live in East TN and currently have an 05 Ranger Edge. Thankyou to all for the great information on this forum.

I currently have an 05 Ranger Edge and I'm getting ready to order my 2019 XLT this week with the following options:

302A
FX4
Trailer Tow
Technology
18" Wheels with Magnetic Pockets
Black Running Boards
Splash Guards
Tray Floor Liners

I don't plan to tow anything heavy so I'm not positive about the Tow Package. I'm wondering if it's worth buying for potential resale value.

My biggest problem now is what color. I have narrowed it down to HP Red, Saber or Magnetic and like them all but can't afford to buy 3 trucks. Would be happy to hear other's opinions on my planned options and color choices.

Do you plan to tow anything at all? All the tow package contains is the hitch receiver and sockets for the trailer lights. If you don't plan to tow anything ever then don't bother. If you might want them later and want an OEM model installed by the dealer it probably won't cost too much less than just getting the package now. If you'd be happy to do the work yourself and/or (down the road, they don't exist yet) use a third party receiver, then it should cost much less than $500. If it affects resale value by more than a couple hundred bucks (unlikely) then you just throw one on right before you sell it...

Right now with my 05 Range Edge I have a bumper mounted ball that works fine for the few times I needed tow something such as a small utility trailer. The 6' bed generally meets my hauling needs.

Do you think the 2019 bumper would be good enough for that let's say for a total of 2000lbs? I see that it has a provision for mounting a ball.

Manual says a ball is good for 3500 lbs. In practical terms, check out the height of the ball and see if it would work with your trailer. (The top of the ball will probably be a bit more than 2 feet off the ground, and a receiver definitely allows more flexibility with drop hitches.) You'll still need to add the wiring socket but it's prewired with or without the tow package.

Just checked the current ball and the top is at 25". I borrow a neighbor's trailer when I need one and it does slope up a bit but works. I think I had to lift the tongue about 6" so that is a consideration. Thanks.

Hey everyone, new member here. Short story.
I bought a brand new aluminum 2.7 ecoboost F150 back in Feb 2015, one of the firs to go on sale. Love the truck overall but was way too big for my lifestyle and my wife refused to drive it. October of that year I traded it in for a 2014 Golf TDI. I then sold that VW back to VW for 21k in March of 2016. With that cash I bought a 2017 Tacoma SR for 30,500. I proceeded to install an ARB locker, Stock size tires, ICON suspension kit and various other bits. No matter what I did I couldn't make myself like the truck. Sure It was good offroad and in MOAB but everyday driving was terrible. It was slow and bumpy, I sat on the floor and it killed my back, it didn't have Apple CarPlay. I traded that in at Audi Colorado Springs for 32,000 trade in value and got a 2016 Grand Cherokee Overland. I love that Jeep except it doesn't have CarPlay.

Come this month and we're expecting our first kid. I gave my wife the Jeep and decided to get the Ranger. I got a Lariat Fx4. Love the safety tech, power, and comfort. I paid 41,500 out the door with spray in liner and tint included. I did have 2500 in taxes on top of that but I don't count that. I love the truck. 750 miles on it and averaging 22mpg with tons of power on tap. Mod plans are 5star tune, GFB diverter, and a good oil catch can when available. That's about it, it doesn't need anything else. I really wish Toyota would get a solid engine with power, a better transmission/map and add Carplay and maybe I would recommend it again, but in my mind it just doesn't compete as a daily pavement pounder.

Good choice in color sans sport pkg. Same as me! Got a car seat in mine as well. Picked up a Lusso Gear Car Seat protector from Amazon to protect from indentations and inevitable spills on my leather. Good luck being a new dad. A certain joy will come over your heart. When times get hard, just keep tellin yourself its the new normal and you will make the necessary adjustments.

Off topic but did you see my post? The coverage will be better than a car seat protector. It's completely waterproof.
