I really love Race Red, I kinda hope it is offered like Hot Pepper Red, only on XLT plus a $500 premium.
That way I won't feel bad for not waiting.
Anyhow I do love Saber, but I wish it had a better name and also no two people see it as the same color!
At least it can qualify as a color!

The paint chip above for Iconic Silver looks very dark.
Here is a pic of the new Explorer painted in that color.
I can live with that

Issue 12 of the Ford Order Guide Companion covers the 2020 models. It appears to confirm everything shown above by rangerdanger except Lucid Red is listed as Rapid Red. Unfortunately, there’s not any detailed information on factory changes for 2020. Overall, the document was a disappointment. There is a picture of the Black Appearance Package with Race Red. It looks real good.

can you get RaceRed on an XL?
Is it extra money like hot pepper?

Race Red is not an extra cost color for the F-150 so I doubt it will be for the Ranger either. Likewise, Race Red is available on the 2019 F-150 XL so I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t be available for the 2020 Ranger XL also.

Rapid (Lucid) Red Metallic will be an extra cost color.

I was Amazed when they introduced the 2019 Ranger without Red.
As you say it was a standard color on almost any Ford.
I have always bought Red or painted a lot of my vehicles Red.

Funny thing though, I was just really considering repainting my Pinto from Red to Green when I bought the Ranger.
I have grown to like the Saber Metallic Gold so much that I am surprised that I don't resent Ford for not offering Red for 2019, now that my tradition has been broken.
I wouldn't buy that Lucid Red Metallic if it reduced the price of the truck... I would seriously prefer primer.

I purposely held up on ordering a 2019 with hopes that Ford would offer a dark metallic blue or green for MY 2020, nothing doing.
Personally, one of the most handsome exterior colors Ford has ever offered was Dark Ivy Green metallic from the sixties.

I'm surprised Chili Pepper Red is already being discontinued. I have received more compliments on my truck, particularly the color more so than any other vehicle I've owned. Went through a drive through today and the cashier was complimenting the color.
Yea that is the best color. I tried to get one but it was sold out around here in the trim I wanted.

They need to come use Tuxedo Black again. I had that on my Fusion. Why 'that' black? Because it, like my wife's Magnetic Gray, has a metallic additive that gives it a slight sparkle. I'm not into sparkle for the glitter. After looking at several colors over the years, any metallic paint seems to hide or at least obscure dirt and fine swirls or scratches.

Example: My Shadow Black Ranger can show the slightest water spot, swirl and spec of dirt. Her's sits right next to mine, won't get washed as often and shows no indication of dust or dirt. My Fusion also never shown that much so I have to guess it's the metallic in the paint.

In the interim, getting frustrated with it constantly looking dirty, (sometimes washing it a few times a week), I got it Ceramic-Pro coated. Not as bad but geeze. I need to learn to stop buying black vehicles. Look great when cleaned and polished, look like hell after one day on road and/or after rain.
