I also meandered over from Bronco6G. I like the mods being made to the Ranger. Now I am thinking about getting my wife a Ranger after the Bronco. By the time I am ready the new Ranger will be out even if it is delayed. I hope the models below the Raptor get the 2.7 option.

I am extremely happy with my truck and looking forward to years of service from it. I’ll have to post some pictures soon. Tired after a long night at the dealership those places really wear you down.

The Bronco is pricey compared to the Ranger, I was looking at the Black Diamond Bronco.
The one feature I would like to see on the Ranger is the drain plugs in the floors.
I would give the Bronco a couple of years to figure out what issues it has. I would bet you will start to see the roofs leaking if you are using it for its intended purpose

this is another part of why I ended up in the ranger. I got a lot of truck for about 37k out the door. Far cheaper than my bronco build would have been. Two features I wanted were rubber floors and manual trans however I don’t feel like i compromised in the end. The ranger is an awesome truck.

There are 7 different models of Broncos so you have to compare them evenly with the correct Ranger model. I think they're pretty equal and even giving the Bronco the edge. Even the Base model Bronco has push button start and Sync 4 which you still can't even get on the Ranger Lariat. Bilstein shocks come standard with the Sasquatch package which besides the Tremor you have no other options for a GOOD factory off road package with the Ranger.

Yes, I would also like to see the manual transmission from the 2.3L Bronco offered on the Ranger.

Even the first edition doesn’t come with a 5 foot bed though!

In all seriousness the tremor probably comes in a little cheaper than even a base Sasquatch 4 door. The Bronco would certainly be more capable off-road but there’s a give and take. It all comes down to why you want which vehicle. In my case the ranger was cheaper, more useful, and available when I wanted a new vehicle. The bronco is certainly cool. It might find its way onto my driveway one day but by then there will be heavy incentives, new colors, features, etc.

Comparing to the other pickups in the segment I think the Tremor stacks up nicely against the TRD Pro Tacoma which is its real competition. Ford has some winning vehicles right now. A few years ago I had a rav4 and FJ in my driveway. Today I have two Fords.

You're right they each have their own need and for me I'm keeping my Ranger and getting a Bronco. The Bronco is just going to me my off road toy and I need a truck and bed storage for work. I could probably manage to work out of a Bronco if it were a 4dr but I'm getting a 2dr. Plus I love my Ranger and don't want to sell it right now but might if/when a Ranger Raptor comes out.

There are a few things at play here with recent announcements made. With everything you just mentioned there will also be a smaller pickup coming that’s smaller than the Ranger. It’s slated to be the Maverick. So size wise it will be closer to previous generations of the Ranger. So, 4 sizes of pickups. Then comes the Bronco and it’s different flavors. They will most likely run this current design Ranger for 3 to 4 years before a redesign. That allows them to drop in the new introductions in a timed and planned manner.
I wanted to say this, but my old worn out brain just wouldn't give me the right words. :) So, Rick stated it well. I don't think we'll se a redesigned Ranger for a while. But, a '22 Ranger specifically ordered the way you want would be a damn nice truck.

@Samsquanch , with a Jan 21 res I don't think you'll be seeing your Bronco until maybe the spring of '22 or later. However, if you have a simple build with no options on constraint or late availability that would make a big difference on your build date. I have a Oct. 4th '20 res with constraints/late availability options, and don't expect mine until summer, or later next year. Good luck on your decision. I know a decision like this one is tough to make with a timeline thrown into the mix. But, knowing the Ranger would fit your lifestyle now gets you almost there.

It got me more than almost there. I drove home in a ā€˜21 ranger last night:)

We need to see some pictures when you can.
Absolutely! I woke up to a downpour that lasted all day. That nice dealership detail didn’t last long! Good thing trucks are meant to be dirty.

My wheels are turning on mods already. The truck is perfectly capable as-is. I typically do wheels and tires on a new vehicle immediately and sell the take-offs. I’m not sure if I will do that this time. The stock Hankooks seem a little undersized and I’m not sure how I feel about 18ā€ wheels. I had a strong preference for 17s to get more rubber for airing down on the beach and such. However the black wheels that come on the FX4 black package do look really nice for stock wheels.

Finally got some decent weather yesterday. Really love this truck. I haven’t been this happy about a new vehicle in a long while... This one really feels like mine.

My long term plans are a suspension upgrade and 32s. I am thinking of the Fox 2.0. Although the wheels look great I would have preferred 17s so I’ll have to think long and hard on that one.

Other than those mods I may add a compressor if there is a unit that fits somewhere cool. I’ve always wanted an onboard compressor.

Edited to add... I just realized how mall-crawlerish this photo is ? Going to be a few weeks until I can take the truck to its natural habitat. I’m really happy I got this truck in March. I have the full outdoor/fishing/camping/hunting season in 2021 ahead of me to enjoy the new truck.
