Need recommendations for aftermarket lighting

on the topic: I tried a few of the china brands with little luck. The NiLight branded ones didnt last a month. They were cheap so I was not surprised lol.
I have noticed some of the offerings from Auxbeam look like better quality control is taking place. The prices have gone up also, but they are still very affordable. I have an older Auxbeam light bar on the 4g ranger. it fogs some times but the light still works fine. I would avoid the older cheaper Auxbeam stuff.

Which Nilight's did you get?

That is what my flank/rear lighting is and they are solid. It is their "nixman" series, whatever that means, I think it is their "higher end" offering if thats possible with chicom lights LOL

My marker lighting is also Nilight - again, solid made little units that are housing sealed permanently.

I've actually watch Nilight over 2 years make some serious and drastic improvements to their products.

Sorry for the picture I know its been posted a lot lately, but these little 1500 lumen lights are good stuff and they are only $32 a pair if I recall. Lens/housing is also permanently sealed, which IMO will always be better than screw and bezel models.

There are many good light choices out there in ALL price ranges to fit someones budget. Just because they don't fit your built and you have the funds for the higher end product doesn't make someone else's choice wrong.

With that said I'm all for spending a little more money to buy something of better quality. Buy once cry once. But as Jack has pointed out he's had good luck with his lower budget Chicom lights. Some need a little tweaking with silicone for sealer and maybe better brackets but they do the job. Most have some good reviews on Amazon so for the average person not running the Baja they should work out well.

Oh yea, those cheap screw and bezel models can do the job, but if you don't seal them its a crapshoot. That even goes for high end stuff. One piece of dirt or something gets the bezel rubber gasket out of alignment then condensation comes on in.

Why I generally stick to permanently sealed units - the only prep I do on them is a glob of sealent on the wire entry point even if they have a rubber gasket.

So.... Imma be that dude. That is a lot of direct light bouncing off the hood. Ditch looks ok, I believe the correct position of ditch lights is only a sliver of reflection should be visible on the hood.

With that said, it seems 98% of people do not correctly aim ditch lights lol They use them as quasi-driving lights, which IMO is terrible idea, but thats just me.

I only had the Jeep a couple months and never had a lot of off road time at night with it. Come to think of it I never went off road with it at night only a few short day runs so they never were properly adjusted. But thanks for pointing that out.

I can stick a 10,000 lumen flashlight on the end of my rifle, but I'd be an idiot to use that rifle in CQB inside a building.

Are you stating that area you are in, cannot be done without your light setup? Are people getting crushed by random boulders rolling down hill from 500 yards away so much so that these lights are an absolute need to see them coming?
