For some perspective, that's 120yds more performance than the BD LP6 Pro Spot, with a combo beam pattern that covers every conceivable need. Why didn't you choose an effective solution like this, instead of silly little pod lights?
convenience. i want stuff that works and if it has issues i want it solved. rigid has authorized dealers all over in my area as well as warranty center that will fix issues in a business day sometimes. lightforce has many "dealers" in my area that have next to zero light force inventory for customers. folks that live in my area know if you go in a 4wd shop light force products are few and far between. that means if something needs replacement or a warranty issue comes up im left waiting on things to arrive for days or weeks. ive called rigid in arizona on a monday and told them items were missing in my box and by tuesday night it was in my hands free of any charge or shipping. i think my "silly little pods" work well for my needs. they are built tough and will withstand as much use and abuse as any brand on the market. wanna send me a free set of your Superior lights id be happy to try them out. but it would be a while as lightforce is moving apparently. https://www.lightforce.com/en_us/products
page says orders disabled. so many of the items they sell look so much like rigid industries. hard to tell these days.

"Because I want to"

And this is how you correctly answer why you buy expensive lights. A personal choice. I can't argue from the high ground on this one because nothing he is saying is incorrect.

Finally someone willing to just be honest instead of chest thumping some BS paper engineering mumbo jumbo.

Would information about efficacy and cost savings not be the kind of thing you'd want to find on this forum?

If you're into guns, Lightforce and Nightforce are the same company. It's the oldest and most well respected manufacturer of lights and glass in Australia. All their lights are hand made in that country.

Don't get ahead of yourself - there has been a lot of rumbling about lower end optics easily matching NightForce. Not that NF does not make some damn fine glass, but NF commands its price tag because of military contracts, not the civilian market place. Firearms owners are just as bad as off-roaders trying to be Tier 1 operators.

Milspec is like some orgasmic word to them, like "Australian sourced" is to off-roaders.

Yes, for the most part. Now not that there is not some gnarly gear the MIL gets there hands on, but its sort of like an instagram influencer, once your foot is in the door you basically just ride the roller-coaster and collect money and free shit. You also get to claim knowledge superiority because reasons.

Your lights should not be breaking. And the fact is, rigid (which survives primarily in military contracts) simply does not make competitive products. Their 6 inch rounds do 1 lux at 270 yds for $650. Compare that to the $450 strikers at 750 yds.

I primarily run Leuopold (for all my lpvos) and Maven (hunting and long range) for that reason. American and Japanese glass, in a drastically lighter package.

Leuopold is good, but I really only run their DPP on pistols - I haven't particularly found them above and beyond since many decades ago.

I didn't even go with the leuopold on my MK12 SPR Mod0 "clone" I use on duty. I just got a mid-range Vortex and called it a day.

Hell some of the higher end Vortex optics are the exact ones owners are saying they can't really discern between and the NF optics they own.

I use Trijicon for dots, but have been a bit frustrated. Have a new 2011 on the way, with a Holosun.

The Leupold Patrol 6HD glass is nearly as good as Swaro, side by side, and the scope weighs 12oz. Looked at putting a Nightforce on my most recent 308, but it was like 28oz iirc. And that's already a heavy gun. Putting same scope on a new 375 Ruger I'm building for a coastal brown bear hunt in AK this spring.

Some background on my gun needs/preferences. Sitting at this cabin right now, hoping the bears are asleep. https://www.outdoorlife.com/story/survival/the-ultimate-solutions-to-cabin-security/?amp
