Thanks to everyone for making the forum great.

I love my Ranger, and it’s been a blast, but it just wasn’t the right fit for my family size - currently 3 young kids with boosters and car seats. I had made it work but decided to move up to something larger.

This was my first truck, and I did test drive full-size trucks too back when buying the Ranger, but it just seemed like too much at the time. The Ranger is a great truck, but it’s tight for a family greater than 4.

The painful part of this change will be the gas mileage!

Big family needs a big truck. You will get grief for the Chevy.
I drove some F-150s too, but honestly Ford is just charging more for equivalent features. I also love the look of the new Silverado.

My sad's Silverdao threw the #4 main bearing at 4K miles. Had to fight with Chevy for a new engine. He got it done though then got rid of it!

Hopefully that won’t be my experience ;) - that’s probably a rare occurrence like the Ranger trans rebuilds we’ve seen on here around or under 20k miles.

About the only GM product that I would consider owning is their trucks based on my dad's experiences with Chevy trucks.

My dad bought a 1988 Chevy 1500 in late 1987 and drove it until late 2000 when he trade it in on a Chevy 2500 that he drove until 2019. He did home improvement for a living so always had his trucks loaded down with tool boxes, ladders, walk boards, and a brake. He wold also haul siding and window in the bed too. The 2500 did a better job with all the weight he hauled.

When it comes to GM cars, I will never own another. Myself and family members have had too many issues with GM cars.

@BettaRanga enjoy your new truck.

The new truck, like the old one, looks great! How's the ride?

They're there to do the same as normal mud flaps, but for wheel spin in reverse. Also minimizes rocks flying forward and bouncing back up to the rockers.
