Running this truck through the ringer and so far it’s taking it. My wife and I bought a house up in the northern northern CA mountains. Shingletown CA to be exact. I regularly tow 5000-7000 pounds from 500’ elevation to 4300’. Load it up with wood, off road. Haven’t washed it in almost a year. Towed our 7000lb travel trailer up a steep grade , had it floored at 4K rpm for about 3 minutes and it was 100 degrees out. Coolant temp started to come up just a hair toward the top then cooled down. Burned about 5 gallons of gas in 13 miles.

I know many of you will cringe from this post. Your welcome, love my pickup truck ??

These are the kinds of things trucks are meant to do! Bravo! I've done many similar things, just not quite to this degree. haha If I wasn't going to use my truck as a truck, then I would've gotten another crossover, hatchback, or small SUV.

A lot of people are worried about working the engine too hard or banging the truck around too much or loading it to the max. But this just goes to prove that the numbers actually mean something and are made to be hit. This, and more, is how Ford, and everyone, tests their trucks.

Doin work! lol I love seeing the little goat get used and abused. Love my truck as well. Side story, a few weeks ago, my buddy needed 70+ 2 x's in various dimensions to build a new pergola. I went to help him and he said we needed to go pick up a trailer as he didn't want to load that much lumber in the back of his F150. I said, we don't need a trailer, if you don't want to use your truck then we'll load em in the Ranger. He laughed, then we proceeded to haul them home in the bed of my Ranger.

Man! I love that area. I used to run around up there a lot with my sports car club when I lived in South Lake Tahoe.
Do you need to adopt a grandpa?

How do you like that area? Been there a bunch and I love it, but not sure about living there.

Which aftermarket bumper is that? Did you keep the crash bars intact when installing?
