Or remote start which is available on other trim levels with tech package.
Without pushbutton start it still requires the key be inserted and turned... As well as there is a feature that turns remote start off after a set time period.

Do you carry your key in your pocket? Well I use to but ended up having the same problem. Grit and dust got into the mechanical bits and mixed with the grease inside. I figured it was shot so ordered just the body of the fob with a key blank for like 10 bucks off EBay. Did some surgery and used graphite as a lubricant and been fine ever since. Life is to short to have your ass kicked by a key fob brother!
I work at Lowe's... Will clean and get graphite or silicone lube... Or stop putting in my pockets and make a necklace out of it instead ..

I didnt blow a gasket when it happened to me. I went to the dealer and had the key replaced under warranty. Had the oil changed at the same time, with a few of the other things that do pop up when you own a vehicle.

Although I was ecstactic when I got a new one and it worked the right way.

My money is on the roll pin. Mine backs out weekly it seems like.

Super dangerous though, yeah. Probably as dangerous as having a lack of problem solving. Should probably (definitely) sue ford... you could of died!
I always thought that there should be a "SARCASM" font, maybe we should just use the Italics or parentheses? or maybe that line through the text? :giggle:

That swearing reminds me something…
Oh, yeah! My 5 months old truck with adBlue problems.
First fire spitting dragon in me woke when truck almost died. Second one came after I was told it’s actually not under warranty.
PITA case and not closed.
Would like to have your situation instead, that can be solved with one fire burst and key fob fix/change.
Did you run out of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) or did it freeze? It must be kept above 11ÂşF/-11.7ÂşC. The truck should be plugged in when parked for more than a few hours. Otherwise it is a truck problem, IMHO. I had a computer problem in my diesel semi once that prevented the Regenerate (re-gen) cycle from starting, and the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) got so clogged with carbon it de-reated the engine to a limp mode: $2,100USD to fix. In normal operation, too many short trips may not allow the exhaust to build enough heat to clear the DPF Filter with the DEF; Im guessing this was Ford's argument in your case.

DEF liquid temp was not issue, Rangers also have DEF heaters, tank was almost full. Diesel truck driving usage is also correct, Ranger regeneration happens in every 160-500 km but no way you can understand it’s happening. Only if lower speed when you are lucky you can smell it or white coming from exhaust.

I fill up from one certain gas station with contract, so I asked from their laboratory proofs and all related documents related to my latest fill ups for adBlue and diesel. They were ok.
Service didn’t drain out adBlue tank, but told probably the root cause was bad quality adBlue.
Such cases may end with dead engine, so that’s why I’m trying to avoid next “engine light” and find out what really happened. Still found nothing and that what worries me.
