Strange I have never seen my truck move when doing remote start other than from a side to side rock.

You'd likely be surprised how much attention I actually pay to that, as that happened to me once also and I had to move my truck back where it was supposed to be before I got out of it.

But all this will make me more vigilant for sure.

When I park, I ALWAYS:

1. stop
2. put the truck in neutral
3. engage the parking brake
4. let off the foot brake
5. let the truck setting
6. engage the foot brake
7. put truck in park

This sequence makes sure the truck is fully settled before the parking pawl is engage and ensures that the truck's weight is not on the pawl.

How do you keep from gassing yourself out with a running truck inside a closed garage?!

Garage has 2 vents to the outside because of the gas water heater.

Not in my garage.
And not if I'm not parked on a hill...which we rarely have to do here in Phoenix.

Always. It's a good habit.
Possibly my _only_ good habit. Well, that and not spilling beer.

Always use parking brake, hill or not.
Also placed half a tennis ball on the garage door strategic to the front bumper so as to prevent the garage door from scratching the car in the event. of close encounters of the $hit kind.

I will suggest not starting a vehicle in a closed garage even if there are a couple passive vents. There is still a CO risk. Especially if you get delayed and the truck runs longer than you expect. Just open the door first, then hit start. Problem solved. And new problem averted also.

One day I started my truck and it lurched forward maybe an inch or so. Maybe a strange noise, but has never done it since. Just ford things I guess.

I don't know why there are so many people that never use the parking brake. I'll try to say something without making it sound like a lecture, but I still get a snide scoff or derisive retort.

It's in the book, quite a few times. They used to teach it in drivers ed. Probably not any more. Probably considered potentially offensive. Can't have that.

I don't use the parking brake. I live in Louisiana where the highest incline is the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River.

It's never been a thing I thought about. But maybe I should start. It is even easier on the 6G because it's electric and will auto disengage when you move out of park. Maybe there should be an option to auto engage the parking brake when in park.

I don't know how I feel with the electric parking brake, you just don't get good confirmation that it actually is on. Nothing like yanking that lever back, hearing the pawl click, and feeling the tension you put on the brakes.
Back to emergency brake argument, I guess with newer vehicles with electric parking brake, you would not be able to use it as an e-brake.

Can 2019 owners sue Ford for deleting this Ebrake?

I have a 2024 Explorer I bought my wife you can keep that Ebrake I'll take my hand brake on my Ranger any day and twice on Sunday.
