I'm curious about getting a big more pep out of Shelly but am not interested in tuning just yet, any suggestions?

LMS has a mild / low octane tune. It's really hard to beat that sort of adjustment to transmission behavior and power for the money. Not just who I went with but others. I brought up @Livernois Motorsports because they give you a low octane/low crazy power option but has the trans turning with it.

Just running premium fuel all the time will net you some extra HP, rumored to be around 300.

The Ecoboost engines have OAR (Octane Adjust Ratio) and will tweak up the power when it sees premium being ran regularly.

It will take a couple of tanks to see the benefit.

An intake and exhaust will net you a bit as well, moreso the exhaust.

Like Dennis said run premium. I run 91 and also use S mode and that'll give you the most hp without tuning or additional mods.

Without a tune as others have mentioned premium fuel is the best you will get. That said if you do tune and go with Livernoise, they offer a Tow Tune that allows you to put any octane from 87 to 93 without switching tunes. For me I still used Premium fuel(91 and up) since it made sense for me.

I ran 3 back to back tanks of premium fuel and didn't notice anything (may need to run more) I've got a flowmaster flowfx ready to install as soon as I get time to get my welding out, I'll have to check out air intakes.

I'll have to start running in sport mode more, I was almost t-boned today by a lady in a 4runner who I guess was taught that red-lights are a suggestion so I had no time to throw it sport mode.

Yeah that's very common around here. When you're first at the lights you really need to check both ways once it turns green. Almost every time someone's running a red light going the other way.

Just remember when using S mode that if you hit the +/- button you now have to manually shift. The first time I used it (on my '19) I forgot and hit red line.

I wasn't even 1st in line I was probably 3rd or 4th, I'm not upset with Shelly at all, from probably 25-30 mph she got moving pretty quick just not as quick as id like, im 85% sure if I would of had my trailer ball mount in the 4 runner would have hit it

If you really don’t want a tune you can optimize a few parts but, it would cost more than just getting a tune. Intakes will add 5-15hp but usually only in the high rpm areas. Charge pipes also tend to add a little. An intercooler won’t increase power but it will make it repeatable and more consistent.
93 octane is the absolute biggest power difference without tuning that I have tested yet.

Crow_of_judgement,

You could also look into weight reduction/upgrades. Depending on what you are currently running, lighter tires, wheels, and rotors will definitely help in your quest for “pep”.
