been wanting to install a catch can on my 2019 truck- did some research and bought the mishimoto...
then saw some posts on here concerning the install- and I thought it can't be really that bad...
WOW- gotta say it was tough- I gave up the first time trying to install it after about an hour... and a decent amount of profane language along with some damage to my hand and arm...
then thought I'd try again (especially after spending almost $200 on it)- I finally got it installed- but it looks like I've been attacked by an alley cat...
good luck with any of you doing this- hang in there- if I can do it- you can do it... just be prepared for some pain and a small amount of blood loss...

Do you have pics ?
What was the primary install issue ?
I slapped my Separator on in 10 minutes.
It took me longer to modify my engine cover.

Yours is a 2022. The late 2021-2023 have the connection up on top of the intake making it simple to install. The others are a bear to get at.

Exactly… mine is a 2019- and it was something I would not want to do again…

I've felt your pain.... Literally! My 2020 installation of the UPR dual port catch can parallels your experience. The good news is that It's been on for 4 years and has largely been trouble free.

Warning! Early on the Mishimoto catch can had trouble with deteriorating hoses and a lot of folks were quite unhappy having to go back in and replace them after a couple of years. I think Mishimoto has probably corrected the problem, but knowing what I know, I wouldn't want to go through the install process a second time.

I agree...it's painful, especially since I had to do it three times. I neglected to slide the hose locking clips into position during the original installation. Didn't realize it until we were towing our trailer and got about 15 miles from home. Engine started running really rough when one of the hoses disconnected. I limped home and got the clip into position, assuming (there's that word) that the other one was okay. I could only go by feeling it since you can't really see well in there.

About a hundred miles later in the Mojave desert the other hose came off. I pulled off at the next exit, air temp 90+, truck nice and hot, jacked up the RF wheel, etc. and proceeded to get the other clip in place. A major PIA for sure. It's been fine ever since.

You really have to do it by feel. And getting the original hose off was a nightmare. The UPR catch can requires you to replace the hose. I think the Mishimoto catch can has you unplug just one end of the hose. Neither is easy. And I don't want to do it again!

And FWIW, this is typical Ford engineering. I've seen many other examples of Ford's stupid engineering decisions, such as an AC port in the passenger side front fender well but above the fender liner... You had to removed the liner to get to the port to service the AC.
