But wait! Is that before or after tax?

LOL! That's $1421 more than I paid for my Ranger XLT 4x4 Tremor in October last year. But some people who come on the car lot are stupid. My first sales job was at a Nissan Dealership in 1985. I always couldn't believe the idiots that would come on the lot and I would ask them what they were looking for and they would say, "Something in Red" Go Figure.
That door swings both ways. I was looking at a 2019 crew cab Ranger and told the sales person it was just too big. He told me that if I wanted a smaller one, I could get an extended cab Ranger. :lipssealed:

That’s more than I paid for my loaded Lariat with Ford performance exhaust, rubber mats, tailgate lettering, hood chip guard, 5 year all-included maintenance plan and a bunch of other shit.

i Know that’s a fact, but what do you expect? You don’t have to pass an IQ test to sell cars, you just have to be willing to work for next to nothing. The only people making decent money at a dealership is the GM, Sales Manager, Finance guy, the service manager, and maybe the person who sells a lot of used cars

Well I bought my 2020 FX4 here in the Philippines with 700 km's on it for 21K. I could never see paying that markup even for a new truck. Hell I can buy a new Raptor for that price.

Well, its not sold yet, so all the concerns about idiots paying that price are unconfirmed

Go in and negotiate
No they’re not as people have tried and we’re laughed at. Even those who placed their order for msrp and when it was time to take delivery we’re hit with markups. The dealer just said “take it or leave it” because they know someone will come along and buy it.

we should all start boycotting dealers and spread the discontent all over social media etc. this stuff is clown shoes!

the more of this i see the better my old 4 g ranger looks with its hail dents and faded trim pieces. it runs great its paid for and it never breaks down. basic maintenance and the thing just keeps on hummin along. i dont care how much money i may have im not paying over msrp. i know dealers can sell it to the next informed voter that comes in... but not me. like i say too often, worst part of owning a ford is hands down the ford dealers.

Wow!

How is this a sound business practice? How does is not come back to bite them in the arse? How do they hope to regain a trustworthy reputation when current production issues are resolved?

It’s like they have no business sense at all.
Most people don't realize there are a lot of fools with a lot of money out there. You know the saying and how it goes.

Their retort? "Why do you care its not your money".

And that is fine, but that doesn't prevent me from having an opinion, wrong, right, or indifferent.

A dealer I spoke to has two "used" Broncos exactly like this on their lot marked up $30k. Ford has too many orders and won't send them dealer stock so they bought them back from customers of custom orders, paid the customers $15k over what they paid for them before they even drove off the lot.

They tell people they're marked up $30k because they DO NOT want to sell them, they want them for people to check out and test drive. Put in a custom order and they'll give you sticker price. Same thing is probably happening here with this Maverick.

I believe that this makes a case for NEVER buying a Ford again if they allow this to continue or at least NOT supporting the dealers that are marking up. I simply will not support a company that abuses people like this. Unfortunately, this is being done by many but not all.
