Manual Shift Buttons Stopped Working

21 Xlt Tremor. Approximately 15k miles. I use the manual shift buttons to lock out higher gears daily. Noticed today that they have lost their function. Anyone else have this happen? A couple on/off cycles didn’t remedy the issue. No codes or errors on the dash.

Does it still bring up the 1-10 numbers on the dash when you tap it once? If not I would suspect a bad button.

Nope, nothing changes on the dash.

To fully T-Shoot this requires a scan tool that will show the following PIDs and wiring checks

SST - U , SST -D and TR Range Corrected

SST = Select Shift Transmission (Up / Down)

So the issue can be in the Shifter - TR Range Sensor and or cable or in the (SST) switch circuit

Just below the shifter boot and (aft) is a small connector for the shifter knob - pull and reseat that connector, this feeds those switches plus below the shifter is the main connector for it, also try pull and reseat.
These are 2 quick possible solutions without digging into full T-Shoot.

You may also try, rocking the shifter back and forth while pushing the buttons to see if you get some kind of operation out of the switches.
And cycle the - Tow/Haul Switch

Another connector in the circuit that contains wiring for the (switches) is C3049 located here so another connector to try - Pull & Reseat if the shift knob and shifter connectors are no help.

Great info. Much appreciated. Tow/Haul functions normally and so does sport mode. I do have a temp version of Forscan so I'll look for those codes and will check the electrical connections. Would the "SST = Select Shift Transmission (Up / Down)" code mean the switch/knob assembly is the culprit?

Quick search online shows the complete shift knob as the only replacement option for $75. Not as bad as I was expecting. JB3Z-7213-AB

The PID is the PCM (signal) of the switch input not a code, basically when you press the (Up or Down) switch - is the PCM seeing the switch inputs. Not sure if Forscan will have those PIDs.

Popped the boot loose and the wire harness was unplugged. Must have been barely secured from the factory. I don't see any other way it could've come loose. All good again.
Wow, glad that was such a simple fix.
