I had to retire V1.0

The modified FX front shocks with RWD springs seated 1.25" lower than OEM worked well for the 2" drop I wanted, the FX shocks helped with the harsh ride, but just not enough.

The rearched rear springs were still too stiff, and both actually broke at flaws in the steel. Grrr

So, on to plan "B".

Bought 3 rear springs for a late 1970's AMC Pacer. Way to soft, but mechanically, a very close fit. Cut the 3rd spring up to add more stiffness. Might cut up a 9" arch F150 in the future but for now, a single convoluted air spring at just under 30 psi keeps the ride, and height where I want it.

Up front, cut new spring seat retainer grooves to fit Koni coilover sleeves on new Bilstiens. 14" Eibach 2.5" 550 lbs/in springs using the original upper strut mount complete the package. Did modify the Bilstiens to seat 1" higher in the upper strut mounts.

Still messing around with final ride height but the ride is (to me) exceptional. Significantly more supple over road imperfections, no more "crashing" over dips and pot holes.

Definitely not a path for everyone, but I'm pleased.

I don't want to lower my truck at all. But I appreciate the ingenuity.

You, my friend, are a hotrodder at heart. Bravo! Hope it works out for you.
