I'm looking to replace the tires that came on my Ranger. I want to stick with the stock 18" wheel because I actually like the wheel. Strange I know. I'll be getting the Ford Performance Fox 2.0 leveling kit with a 2" to 2.5" lift in the front. What's the largest 18" tire I can put on the Ranger without having to alter, replace or remove the factory crash bars. I'd like to get 33" tires if possible without rubbing anything.

I'm looking for a more durable tire than the stock tires. I won't be towing or do any hardcare rock crawling but when I go offroad I might encounter sharp rocks which is the reason I'm looking at the E range tires because they're 10 ply and not 4 ply. Are the 4 ply from other manufacturers more durable that the stock Hankook tires that come with the FX4? I'd prefer a load C range tire but none of the tires I'm looking at have a C rated tire in the size I want.

The tires I"m looking at are:

Falken Wildpeak A/T3w
265/70/R18 SL 32.6" 10.8
LT265/70/R18 E 32.9 10.7

Nitto Ridge Grappler
265/70/R18 SL 32.64 10.71
LT 265/70/R18 E 32.87 10.71

Nitto Terra Grappler
265/70/R18 SL 32.64 10.71
LT265/70/R18 E 32.64 10.71

The largest tire that fits our vehicles without modification is is 265/70-17. That gets you a mouse hair away from those crash bars but clear everywhere else. This is the tire size that's on my Tremor.

So, given you have an 18" wheel, I'd go to a tire size comparison website and find a tire that is no bigger around that the aforementioned (assuming you're keeping the stock wheels and offset).

Now I.cant speak much for the 18 inch wheels as I have 17 inch wheels on my truck. I also cant speak much for the Nitto and Falken tires.

To my understanding if lucky you might(key word) be able to fit 275/70-18 in there with no rubbing but it will be VERY CLOSE. 265/70-18 may be a safer bet.

What tire id going to be durable where you dont have to worry OffRoad? Well it is a tough one to say as there are many tires that can hold up to the test of Offroad. I myself am running the Firestone Destination XT on my truck and to say the least it is AWESOME. And guess what? They have it in the size you are looking at!! Here is a link to it!! https://m.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?tireMake=Firestone&tireModel=Destination+X/T&partnum=67SR8DXT

Now to each thier own but that is my input. Hope that helps!!

One of the guys I work with has an F150 with the Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure tires. Has 43,000 miles on them and they still look new. I am going to look at those and the Firestone's when it is time to replace.

I have 285/70-17 with the Old Man EMU lift kit. On the street I do not rub what so ever and OffRoad I have minimal to no rubbing.

Should I mention that I do not run wheel spacers on the factory wheels?

I'd prefer a load C range tire but none of the tires I'm looking at have a C rated tire in the size I want.

The tires I"m looking at are:

Falken Wildpeak A/T3w
265/70/R18 SL 32.6" 10.8
LT265/70/R18 E 32.9 10.7

Nitto Ridge Grappler
265/70/R18 SL 32.64 10.71
LT 265/70/R18 E 32.87 10.71

Nitto Terra Grappler
265/70/R18 SL 32.64 10.71
LT265/70/R18 E 32.64 10.71
One of the first things I changed out was the tires and bought the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I do a fair amount of off roading/rock crawling and they've held up great! No road noise what so ever and a nice aggressive design. I didn't go with E rated tires as I don't tow or haul anything to heavy and wanted to still get good mileage. I'd buy these again and highly recommend these.

I won't argue that Cooper does make good tires but I'm curious if you plan to go offroad what so ever? I won't ask about snow as i know that is big out there.

azdriver, you and I have the same year/model truck. Mine is also a 2021 Ranger Lariat FX4, Cactus Grey with the Black Appearance package. My interest is what you finally did about tires and what size you managed to fit on it without them rubbing anywhere.

These are all good recommendations. The two tires I can personally recommend based on my use are the Wildpeaks and the Goodyear UltraTerrain from Discount Tire. Both were good tires. Ride nice, not too loud, good off road, and balanced well.

I've got 275/65r18 on mine with 2.5 RC coilovers. I would have liked to gone one more size up but I didn't want to take a chance on them rubbing.

CJ74, I'm trying to find the largest diameter tires that will fit on my 2021 Ranger Lariat FX4 without rubbing on the front crash bars or the front knuckle. I was leaning toward the same size you have (275/65 R18) only a different brand. The ones I have in mind have a diameter of 32.09 inches. Are the Big O tires you're running have that same measurement and do you have any rubbing issues going on? I put a 3 inch leveling spacer on the front strut of mine already. I like the stance and look of yours.

Todd, I TOTALLY agree. The stock Hankook tires were a poor choice by Ford. What were they thinking? The first thing I did was go to Discount Tire to turn the black sidewall out so that people couldn't easily see what tire was on it.
