I know that nothing is safe in the bed of a truck, but I had to try, I braided a cable, crimped and welded up the ends and put it through the bed wall with 6mm ARP bolts with locking nuts on the backside.
It's locking just the ramp or bike and ramp.

That cable looks sweet. Probably way cheaper than buying a beefy one pre-made.

Thanks, it was something I had laying around, one strand was small and easy to cut, so I had the wife show me the braid pattern and did 3 cables together, I figured a death wheel can cut through anything quick but when its an inside bend it tends to grab the wheel toward the end of the cut, so I can only hope they chunk the wheel or something.

Well if I have just one in there i put it in sideways and lock the tailgate. Otherwise I just never leave it unattended. If I have two it is because im noy alone.

Tailgate won't close with it sideways. Just tried on Sunday. This is about as good as it gets. :(

Well i ride a little crappy 125 to chase my son. Once he grows into it a quad is in my future and I will have the same issues you are having. Wish these were offered with the 6ft bed.

Yeah I think I will get one of these as well. But I am always worried with these bikes only being like 250lb a couple of people can just carry them and throw it into a truck bed.

I'd rather they have to carry it out then rolling it down the street. Think they'll be a bit shocked when they discover it's not gonna push very well. The locks are super small and easy to carry without getting in the way. It's not perfect, but far better than nothing, IMO.

yeah for sure. Nothing will be able to 100% stop someone, just gotta make it as difficult and annoying as possible.

Fwiw,
One of the missing bed tiedows, I screwed in two forged eyebolts. Thru those a chain is passed thru to lock a small generator.
Obviously that cant be simply be unscrewed. Its not going to be a quick grab. A criminal needs at least to come prepared to cut something.
