I saw this with my old hatch and now I am seeing it with the Ranger. I was almost hit by someone very much in the wrong today. After being honked at their attitude got the best of them and they thought it would be a good idea to pull in behind me when I parked. I didn't see them until I was getting out, my fault for not making sure they didn't just keep driving after they almost hit me. I am not a huge person, but at 6'2" - 260+ pds of not that much fat... I am not exactly little either. The person who had boxed me in changed their mind, got back in quickly, and left in a hurry.

People make fun of people with big trucks for compensating for .. things... but will also assume someone in a smaller car/truck is a small person.

That doesn't even account for the Glock 21SF that I keep on me (that counts for way more - hurray Texas)... but I never had to think about getting it in hand. Just stepping out was enough.

Reason for the post - had something stupid happen and bored (been off work for like a month.. hopefully getting onboarded next week..... )...... also curious who else is "big" and drives a Ranger. I am 100% comfortable in the "little" truck; about the same as I am with full-size trucks. I am sure they ride a bit better but I never felt like I needed an F150, etc.

If you are doing a good job of concealing that G21, I think I have a pretty good idea why they got back in and drove away.

I am kind of surprised they didn’t say, “I pulled up here to apologize for my incredibly careless driving.” ;)

I do my best to keep it hidden. Not a fan of true open carry myself. That 21 stopped me from getting robbed once; so we have been good friends for some time. I had someone run up on me at a gas pump and demand money with his hand in his pocket like he had a gun...... and didn't realize I saw them coming/already prepared to draw.

I will give the guy props for his ability to turn and sprint. Like - NFL quality speed that day.

A few years ago I might have pushed back. Today… not worth it. Even if their wrong the mentality won’t let them admit. Think you piss them off more now by just ignoring them like they don’t exist. When they start jumping up and down in front of you wanting to escalate is when the real dance lessons start, followed by how fast can you run, 5….4….3…..

I'm 6'2 240 not too much fat, covered in tattoos, have my septum pierced, and generally look unimpressed.

People generally don't even talk to me let alone act up ?

Cute girls like all that though, pro tip.

Getting a good portion of my head tattoo'd in december.. looking forward to being bothered even less in public ?

See I'm the opposite I'm small at 5'7" but have a big.... Well you saw my underwear pic in your other thread so you get the idea.:lipssealed:

I also carry everywhere but today it's just not worth messing with others unless absolutely necessary. I just do my best to not get into it with others and walk away even when I'm in the right. Good job at keeping your cool and avoiding the crazies out there.

He sounded smarter at the end than the beginning. :)

You probably already know this, but just in case, a conversion barrel and magazine will turn your G21SF into a G20SF. Although if you start shooting some of the hot stuff in 10mm, a bigger recoil spring helps with the frame battering. ;)

I'm staying subsonic as I am getting my stamp for a silencer soon (after the tuner because priorities). As that is my go to home defense weapon and I don't want to deafen the kids if someone is dumb enough to try and kick in my front door. I'll just need to unscrew it to get it to fit in the holster.

When I lived in Hawaii I was leaving Hanauma Bay an this car stopped to wait for my spot. I loaded our junk an 2 kids into the car an finally backed out. When I did another car zipped in while I blocked the car that had been waiting for ten minutes. It was a little 80's civic. I looked in the mirror an a 300 plus pound Samoan dude got out of that little car. Don't know what happened but I wouldn't want to push that guy. I still drive a little too aggressively but I'm getting better.

Absolutely.

I had a funny experience quite a few years ago now.

The early rounds of the NCAA tournament had come to BSU. Mary who is a Kentucky alum, is of course, mad for college hoops. She is the only woman I know that can debate the relative bench strength of a couple of different mid-majors.

We got tickets for all the games and the first game was not long before it started. I had to get a few things at the grocery store, but definitely couldn't be late.

As I parked in the grocery store parking lot and got out of my truck, a guy yelled at me sayin, "slow the f**K DOWN! As I came out from between the truck and car next to me, I looked around and realized he might be yelling at me.

As I was walking toward him, primarily to try and nail down if it was me he was yelling at, he kind of took a defensive position behind his door that was open. I said to him, "are you speaking to me?" He kind of said, "yes", in a more normal tone.

By the time I got close enough to speak at normal levels it dawned on me that I almost certainly was driving way too fast in the parking lot, absentmindedly trying to make sure we weren't going to be late for the first tipoff.

At that instant I smiled and said, "you know, I didn't even realize I was driving fast, but I know you are right! I was rushing to get to the basketball game over at BSU and know I was probably speeding., I sincerely apologize for my stupid driving."

I could tell he was taken a little aback, then he said in kind of a relived tone, "well, just be more careful next time!" I said to him, "I promise to do better from now on, thank's for the heads up!"

His wife who was in the car clearly was impressed with her man. ;)

I don't know if anyone still carries them for non-LEO, but I used to always buy Federal HST +P's for my G21SF. Maybe Bone Frog Gun Club?
