I always use a rubber bed mat with any of my bed liners. It keeps everything stuck in place.

Consider me a fan. I've always done the spray in bedliner, but never thought about adding a rubber mat. Well my DeeZee mat came and I finally had a chance to install it. My surgically repaired knee REALLY enjoys crawling around on the mat compared to the metal bed. I'll never own another truck without a rubber mat, I'm totally sold.

Looking for suggestions on how to keep things from sliding around on Line-X spray in liner. My last truck, Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 had a factory spray in liner with a surface that seemed to keep things in the bed from sliding around whether wet or dry. Fast forward to today and I was hauling some of the same things in the bed of my Ranger with the Line-X and it started raining. It was like everything was on ice. I had to stop and try to tie everything in place. Hate to add a rubber mat after paying for the spray in.
Hi Jason,

My factory spray in is like velcro..almost painful to kneel in the bed of the truck... but things still slide around if i do not tie them down. Had 10 five gallon buckets full of landscape rock...half of which dumped over and made a mess because I was lazy and did not secure them....Drat! only a 2 mile trip....Lesson learned...Tie your shit down... Thank goodness I tied down the 23 Lazy Susans I had in the shop for repair of shipping damage... would have probably had to re repair them if they slid around...

best,
Phil

Thanks Phil,
I bet that landscape rock did make a mess. In my case it was 6 plastic - 5 gallon diesel containers. I had tied them through the handles up against the cab end of the bed like always, but even full they moved. I've since adjusted and now run an extra strap around the waist of the containers in addition to through their handles and they stay pretty much in place.

I've thought about making a wooden modular grid of sorts to place on the bed floor that would keep things like this more secure and would even work for groceries and other tough to secure items, but I haven't drawn up any plans for it yet.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

I use my bed extender flipped into the stow position with tie straps if necessary...However, if it is a Costco trip...that won't work...we buy out the whole store it would appear. Our goal now with Costco is to get out under $600 .... sigh!

Best,
Phil

An old piece of shag carpet will slow down the sliding.
