I have my DWI assist set to aid only. I was messin with it this weekend and it is very hard to go around someone turning off the road, unless you put the blinker on. Other than that it worked as it should. Don't know if I would trust it goin into a corner, but thats not really what its for.

Sounds like you may have it on a “high” or standard default setting. I put mine to low and it isn’t really a struggle, more like you can feel it trying but not enough to put a strain to keep moving over.

And yes, using the turn signal de-activates the warning (since we are supposed to use our signals when changing lanes, even if only slightly going around someone who’s turning up ahead of you ?).

DWI assist? I Haven't heard it called that before. ? But I suppose some people think that's what it's for.? Now that I can't drink anymore I guess I don't need it.

but we all know these added driver assist features can potentially allow an impaired driver to avoid suspicion and still be dangerous.
Agree wholeheartedly, I had just never heard it called that.

LOL, reading all the Hatfield and McCoy type of divide responses is hilarious. I actually decided I wasn't even going to post my concern if no one else had posted anything. I assumed I would get the same kind of vitriol on both sides ... like the Auto Stop/Start or Tailgate Damper. Seems like there's a clear division on some of these issues. :)

Personally, I don't care which side people are on. I can turn it on or off like everyone else. I was just happy to confirm that I wasn't the only one having this problem (or feature depending on your opinion). Also, good to know that I can adjust the settings because when I turned it on I didn't get any alerts, noises, lights, etc. I actually wouldn't mind an alert light or something.
The curmudgeons tend to get riled up. You would be pissed too if you had to pee 12 times a night.

I didn't even know the steering wheel is supposed to rumble if i veer out of the lane. My old car did that but i haven't noticed it on my 2020 XLT 2WD. Do all the models have this feature?
When mine did it I thought I was in a stall and tried to pull up, couldn't find the flaps lever!! ? A bit of airplane humor. I disabled the vibration it was annoying. I can foresee using it on a long sleepy road trip eventually.

Stick shaker reference, I like it. haha Too bad there isn't also a robotic woman's voice saying "terrain" as well.

At least we have the little button on the end of the turn signal lever. (PET PEEVE ALERT: Oh that's right they don't teach what that's for in drivers ed anymore.:lipssealed:) That setting at least sticks, unlike the Auto Start/Stop setting!

I know, right! When I noticed that the Lane Assist setting stayed on I was like, "oh, this one you can keep?"

I thought there was something wrong with my truck when I first got it. I tried the LA the day before and the next morning I didn't realize it was still active and the wheel was fighting me and shook while changing lanes. lol

Glad I read this thread, but somewhat embarrassed to say that, I really didn't understand that the LA wasn't just the steering wheel shaker notification, but the active "assistance" (evidently that had inadvertently been turned off). Played with it a bit the past couple days. Usefulness verdict TBD.

The vibration is useful for me on longer trips, commuting it stinks because people drive like a-holes and I'm constantly swerving/swearing as I drive.

I have used the active assistance on a few longer trips where I was alone and worried about zoning out. Mostly just to see how it goes. Honestly, if I duct taped my hands to the wheel, turned it on, and turned on ACC, I think I could take a nap and let it drive me on the interstate, as long as there was a lead car to slow down me down to a stop.
