Lane Keep assist

Deleted member 1634

I have it on, but in New England the roads suck and it goes off a lot when it shouldn't. I'm going to check my settings tomorrow to see what I can fiddle with. Lately on short trips I just shut it off.
I get that same sort of thing a lot here too where they tar seal the cracks and the truck thinks those are lines on the road. Another reason why mine is on alert mode only.

Thank you!
From what the manual says the steering wheel will only vibrate if aid mode cannot correct the lane departure. Good to know, will test this on my way home.

After trial and error, I finally settled on alert mode only, as there are times when I may need to maneuver or change lanes quickly without time to signal, and I don't want to have to wrestle with the steering wheel to do so. Still, it is helpful to have those reminders for the times when I may inadvertently wander too close to the lane divider....

Noticed today, at least in my truck, that the steering wheel does rumble a little with both Alert and Aid turned on. '19 XLT, FX4. And, yes, it rumbled when the correction couldn't kick in. I moved across the center stripes as there were some bicyclists on the road.

Do you have aid set to highest most aggressive setting?

I have mine set to the highest setting and only notice a slight rumble. I never use it around town because i've had way to many problems with it not picking up lane changes and I found myself fighting it. I like it on longer highway trips as it helps you if you're feeling fatigued and start to cross the lines.

Road construction in Houston is never-ending. The first few times it activated I thought my tires had become unbalanced, or I was hitting rumble strips. I disabled mine months ago. The back up sensors detecting moving traffic and the blind spot activation get put to use frequently. You've got to constantly scan conditions ahead and be prepared for anything to happen around here. I have used it on road trips to combat lane drifting. It's definitely not for me in town.

Does the blind spot monitoring make a noise or is it just the light on the side mirror?

I get a beeping along with the indicator light on the activated mirror. It has saved me a few times from people traveling at NASCAR speeds making lane changes in traffic while I was attempting to do the same.

I figured it was supposed to make noise. I drilled down into the settings and didn't see where it said anything about turning on the noise. I guess I'll look in the manual now since I know it is supposed to beep.

The cross traffic alert (which is different than the blind spot monitor) makes noise. I don't believe the blind spot monitor (BLISS) makes any beeping - just the light.

This isn't the first time I've been wrong on the internet. Certainly not the last. Perhaps I'm confusing it with the crash warning beeping which is also activates frequently in my truck. Gotta love Houston traffic.

I figured it would beep cause it's not a lot of helping being a small light. My old car beeped and it was super helpful.
