Hey all was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to their Rangers? So on the dash you see the truck, usually you see the dotted lines, mine have disappeared!! Ever since I got the truck back in May the lane indicator has been spotty with it showing green/ red and when it’s not picking up the lanes the boundary lines are gray. Now for the second time there are no more lanes on the dash. Anyone have a fix before I head to the dealer? Thanks.

did you try pressing the button on the side of the turn signal stalk that turns the feature on/off? its easy to accidentally turn it off
Thank you, that solved it!! Other question why does it sometimes picks up the lanes and other times it doesn’t?

Glad it worked, I think the not picking up lanes sometimes is normal I’ve noticed it does that as well but usually corrects itself and picks them up after a few seconds.

There's a minimum speed, I think over 40. After that, sometimes the computer just can't figure it out.

I travel alot of old country roads. Some are better maintained than others. I've noticed if the paint lines are faded, they don't show up (or show gray) on the screen.

There has to be lanes for it to pick up! Poor lines on edge and center will make it lose the lane. Clean windshield is needed as well. You’ll get a message if it gets too dirty and the lane keeping won’t work until you clean it.

When the turn signal is on either toggled or full on it will cancel the lanes temporarily.

it doesn't seem to like windy mountain roads either, or going through big intersections, construction zones (obv), when turn lanes split off, on ramps and off ramps, bad weather, etc...
basically anything besides long straight well maintained highway its very unreliable. I've also noticed many times where the lane shows green, but as you approach/go over the line, it fails to do anything.

I've completely lost hope in the future of self driving cars because of this system, unless they go to the trouble of actually installing sensors in the road or something.

put the settings to the max and see if you feel a difference.
my settings are at the minimum because i still like to drive the truck, but its a last resort of i am tired or distracted, which is the main purpose of this system. it is NOT a self driving feature.

I go through tunnel near home, that has a concrete divider in the middle and only a fog line on the right.
it holds me steady thru the tunnel, but pushes me over so close to the concrete divider my butt starts to pucker. But its happy, it knows where its at in the lane.
I know it's not supposed to be self driving, but I believe it uses much of the same technology as self driving cars when it comes to finding lanes.
I do have the settings to the max, and the steering assist is impressive WHEN it knows where the lane is, but that's what it seems to always have trouble with. I rarely use it anyway, but sometimes I like to test it out, and am usually pretty surprised with how easily it loses the lane, unless it's a long pretty straight highway, and in those cases it's actually pretty great.

It is pretty impressive. I have never owned a car with this tech before and find it cool. No the car isn't self driving but definitely on well marked roads it does works well and as intended. I tested (at max setting) and it will handle a long sweeping curve on the freeway at 60MPH all on its own. It was a little nerve racking :) I kept my hand on the wheel just letting it slide thru my grip as it turned itself so I could quickly grab it but it did do fine!

it's in the driver assist menu on the screen. you can change the sensitivity, and also whether you want it to just vibrate or actually steer the car, up to I believe 3 different levels
