I just installed the 7 inch kenwood excelons and the kenwood performance series components in the front. And BOY these things sound way better than stock and have surprisingly a good bit of bass that makes it seeks like I have a 10 in the back.

Did you have to cut the opening any to make it fit? I saw where someone cut the door a little to put an 8" in.

Do you or the OP run an amp? I installed Hertz components but I went with their cheapest component set an the Woofer/Mid looks like it's less than 6". It sounds ok but not as nice as my amped hertz coax in the Harley. Both the 7" Kenwood sets have low sensitivity rating. I like to see it 92-93 for better volume
Yes.

My current set up:
4 x 50W for highs
1 x 600W for sub

I would call this a basic system from my 10 years of working in car audio. I used the amps from previous builds and this is what i had left. I would prefer a 4 x 75W or 4 x 100W for the highs because i max it out often. From my experience if you really want to crank it loud you need that kind of power. For a sub its usually a minimum of 300W, depending the efficiency type of woofer. and installation. The inside of a vehicle is the worst place for sound, lots of materials that absorb the sound, thats why your Harley seems much louder.

Nice. I saw a wiring kit that connects the stock harness outputs to an amp an the amp outputs to the speakers but it's $360 just for the wiring! I have a Massive Audio 4x100 amp I can use if they offer just the wiring kit. I don't want to cut or run wires. I'm just afraid the massive amp is too large to fit in there. I have a Arc 70x2 I'm installing on my Harley. It's a tight spot an I think it will fit nicely.

Got a new 2022 XLT and the speakers are the worst of any new vehicle I've owned.. ally F150s and F250 far superior...
Want to upgrade my speakers..
Maybe a needed amp...

glad to see kenwoods ex line is still in the game. i used some of that gear years back for usasci stuff and always had good luck with it. too many quality audio products seem to have given way to all the tech connect wi fi app based mp254 touch screen phone sync link stuff instead of just good quality audio.

Jl audio C1-650 separates in the front C1-650x coax in the rear doors, powered by an alpine 445u 4 channel amp with car av 12-240 harness adapter. No cut wires. Very satisfied with this setup. I did add an alpine 600 watt mono amp and 8 in sub. Made it even better.

I have an extra car av harness that i won't be needing. PM of interested
