Are they real chrome, or the "new" chrome? I hated when they switched over to the plastic chrome...

I am not a huge fan of a bunch of chrome, but the letters look good with the chrome stuff with the red.

Did the same with mine but they took a beating this winter.
Not sure how long they will last.

Plastic but they look pretty good. I like the real deal well. Chrome plated plastic today looks a lot better than the early examples from the 70's

The ones from Ford are manufactured by Putco and are not plastic, really good quality

Back in the 70's, the "chrome" would peel in a year sometimes...

Looks great, but I might be a little biased cause I've got the same thing chrome package and matching letters. Love that red tho. When I bought mine Rangers were scarce, only Lariat I could find was white. If I had known there was so little diff between the xlt and Lariat, I would have just bought the xlt
