I received the Ranger S'Cab couple days ago. The two pics here are of one headrest removed, the other is in the forward tilt position.

This is supposed to be the repair for the Recall on this item. I don't know the details on the recall further and not sure my dealership knows either. The service dept told me the recall had not been completed on that headrest issue. But, I understand from chat here that this IS the fix.

The truck was built initially about Aug 9th or so and finally completed on Dec 24. The Dec date was when forddelivery site said truck finished and ready to ship.

Hope this helps folks who have truck delivered to dealer but not being released as well as those waiting for truck coming from factory. Essentially, Ford appears to have the solution in parts for this recall now.

The dealership said the other recall item, passenger side seatbelt was also fixed. Good luck if you are stuck in waiting for this recall thing and hope this helps

I have an appt. on the 27th for the recall. Seatbelts are OK, but I want it to get on record. Dealer couldn't give me a time line for headrest replacement, but nice to know that Ford is shipping them.
Looks like they are foldable....
Did they take your old rear headrests ?

I'm not sure what's going on but I had both recalls completed about 1 month ago & the headrest still shows up in FordPass? No biggie, I'll ask next time I'm at dealership.
Oups, it's the child restraint in FordPass.

your dealership is clueless in my opinion

the headrest issue involved fixed headrests. it prevents certain child seats from being installed properly.
the fix is removable headrests. your's .....clearly are removable.
the anchors as well for the child seat have to be checked for alignment. and adjusted if necessary.
there's not a lot of details out there on specifics, but its part and parcel to the same recall. so if the factory did the headrests, they likely did the anchors too.

personally, i'd look for a better dealer for any future needs.
Yeah, the rear seat isn't for the headrests themselves, it's for the child seat attachments. I took the headrests off since they blocked my vision and no one will ever sit back there anyway. I had mine to the dealer a month ago for the recall.

I don't need the new headrests as I converted my rear to a rear seat delete kit. But I want the new headrests in case I ever want to convert back to "seats".
Also want my Ford info to show that the recalls were preformed.

My fordpass stated I was supposed to get instructions in the mail to test my passenger seat belt but that was months ago. Anybody get this?
This is what they sent out by mail

No, this is the way it was delivered. See the timeline on OP. If they did a swap of the old headrest, it happened at the plant.

Thanks for the replies and details on the belt. I watched the video. Wish I could get that gal to come inspect my seatbelt. She did not show up so I checked it. They are good

The seats are un-sit-able I'd say. I removed them but then the plastic cover on the two wells are so flimsey, I put the seats back in.

Just to clarify, are you saying that if you have non-folding headrests, the "fix" is to replace them with foldable ones? My 2020 came with the foldable ones but there is no button to fold them. There's a hack to install a wooden dowel in the button hole and voila! Foldable headrests.
