Little backstory, the leather around my ebrake was already tearing. Took my vehicle to Ford to get replaced. Once I received my vehicle back I see this new scratch. It has been 3 days now and I have yet to hear any word back from them. Yeah its not a long scratch but its pretty deep and its the first thing I notice now when I get in the truck. Am I being a bish? I already let them scratching the sh%t out of mirror finished door still plates so kinda pissed they have damaged something both times.

Hi Eric,

Short answer is the dealer is responsible, but it is tough to prove they did this vs you did it... A good dealer will take care if it but it seems good dealers are becoming a real rarity.

Good luck...

Best,
Phil

Hello Phil, another fear I had was them trying to pin that damage on me. Hope push does not come to shove.

Hi Eric,

Yeah...that is a worry, but you have a before pix and an after pix.... I would certainly have those available during your discussions...Sounds like you need to do a face to face...Sad the tech would not own up to it...

best,
Phil

I feel your pain.

I just got mine back from the dealer for the ebrake boot and found this...

I'm going to have to look and see if I have a before pic.

I hate having to take my vehicle to the dealer for anything. I'm dreading how much damage they're going to do when they have to rip the dash apart for the warped heater box

That sucks, and I know you're pissed. I had a similar experience with a Nissan dealer with my previous truck.
Cosmetic only and visible only to my eyes and nothing mechanical.
My opinion- an Armor All wipe does wonders. And let it go.
Who knows- they might F it up more than they already did.
No offense to any dealer mechanics here.
Good luck

The very few times I've had the occasion to bring a vehicle into the dealer...I Always got the dreaded knot in my stomach.

It‘s kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. If you’re always expecting a problem, you‘re usually rewarded.

Ty for the armor all tip. I know scuffs will be there in the future after I pay her off. Been trying to take it slow the first year.
