Is anybody using General Grabber A/TX Tires - (33" - 285/65R18) ?

That's what I'm currently running. I think they're terrible in wet weather.

I'm considering the switch to Toyo's (305/60R18) for my next set. The Toyo's are 10# lighter and $10 cheaper.

So my next question is,,, has anyone tried running 305/60R18s ?

I think that's a downgrade from the ATX. In general I don't think ATs do as well in water and hydroplaning. Get highway tires if you want that

I should delete this thread since I just made a decision.

I probably have another 12-15k miles left on these tires.

BUT,,, a once in a lifetime deal is too hard to ignore. 50% OFF !!!

I just saw it and bought them before AmericanTrucks can correct their mistake.

I really wanted the Toyos. But ½ off is ½ off. Screw it. I'll save them in my garage until the time is right.

Saving damn near $700 makes it a lot easier to accept these mediocre tires.

I bought them the moment I saw it...

50% off General Grabber A/TX Tires - (33" - 285/65R18) !!!

I don't love them. But,,, they're a direct replacement AND, I do enjoy saving nearly $700...

Personally would have gone with a different size at least. 265/70-18 would be a bit nicer on the MPG while staying about the same size.

There are those who seem to swear by the General Grabber ATx. I had a set on a 1992 Pathfinder and they caused me to loose control in Winter Weather. Keep in mind that these tires were supposed to be 3 peak rated....... I was not impressed.......

Later I went to the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3. It was ok, but Wet Traction was gone after about 5,000 miles. Next was the Firestone Destination XT. Technically I'm on my 4th set total and the funny thing is it was a set per vehicle!? Personally I like them! Keep in mind that they are an All-Terrain, but the Wet and Winter Traction is Great for an All-Terrain. The wear is also pretty good! My current set on my Frontier is 265/70-18. The original size was 265/75-16 and I figured keeping the same width would help with MPG to an extent.

I saw that. But the page for that tire claims to have them in stock.

It's fine either way because they're just gonna still in my garage for 4-6 months before I actually need them. But I couldn't pass up the deal...

They're claiming to be shipping them today. Each tire is being sent separately. Each one has its own tracking number. Seems silly to do it that way. I'm sure nothing will go wrong. ?‍♂

Understand that the size is probably why. I doubt they would all be in one giant box(though it would be hilarious)

I expected them to come all shrink wrapped together. I worry more about loss & damage with 4 separate shipments.

I think I could've fit all 4 in the same box my refrigerator came in.

Yea, at 60 lbs. each, no FedEx, UPS, etc. guy is going to lift 4 of them in one package... LOL Else they would have to use a power tailgate lift (and charge you for it) or would have to be a (usually) a commercial address with loading dock and a forklift.

Also, those are pricey suckers, IMO, per Tire Rack

I was thinking they could roll them onto the truck...

But,,, yeah. I guess there's a bunch of people out there that think 240 lbs. is heavy. I can understand that. But I'd have a hard time sleeping at night if I couldn't toss that over 1 shoulder and move it myself. The knees are shot and both shoulders are rebuilt. But I know I can carry all 4 at once. I lift heavier shit than that at work every day. I carry 300 lbs. bodies all the time.

Would love to know these would fit on a stock rim without hitting the knuckle, 33's seen like the sweat spot for the Tremor but I don't really want to goof with spacers
