I have been in my new Ranger less than a month and have expressed this to my wife, that the dual system on auto isn't as good as the dual system on auto in her Escape or my previous Focus ST. And I did like you, full fan speed on the upper body (moderately impressive but not great), full air only on feet (barely any flow), full fan speed on both and it is just lackluster.

Not sure what to do yet. If it bothers me I'll have it looked at. Otherwise maybe a TSB will come out

Even on a 90-95* day I have never had my air set to less than 70* most of the time it was at 72*. In the Ranger my daughter still sweats in her booster seat at 70* so I turn it a couple degrees down.

Air flow out of the upper vents was never an issue they blow very well. I'm in south Texas & I have only been using a/c mode....I haven't turned on max yet, I haven't needed it.

It was just the lower vents that were not working for me. I rarely use them so I was in no hurry to get them checked out but I'm glad they started working, saves me a trip to the dealer. I checked them again today & they are still working....no thud this time.

So you're getting good airflow? The trick to making this "this" happen is manually moving the direction of air around and hoping the vent opens up? For me it's like someone with a straw blowing directly under the steering column. Barely anything.

There is very little airflow that is directed to the floor outlets in panel mode by design intent. For the best overall comfort and quicker cooldown, you will want to be in panel, not panel/floor. As someone stated, max a/c will put it in recirc mode (versus outside or fresh air mode), which will cool the cabin quicker and use less energy (fuel). Panel/floor is intended for a comfort setting and is generally assumed as not used in high blower. It can be difficult to get the air distribution correct when changing air distribution modes while in high blower. If you want to use panel/floor mode, try changing the blower so it is not in high then change mode from panel to panel/floor and see if your problem is resolved. The issue is related to mode door, not blend door. By design, there is little airflow out the floor ducts in panel mode. This is to prevent cold foot on the accelerator pedal when sandals or other are worn.

Yes, I am now getting good air flow from all vents. The upper vents were never an issue. They blow hard & I am a hot natured person, I like it cold in the cab, especially when the heat index starts getting to 110 deg. There are actually times I've tried to turn the fan speed down only to realize it's already at 1.

My issue was like RangerCat's.....the lower vents were not working but all of a sudden they were working yesterday.....

In case you didn't notice.....the driver side floor vents are directly above the pedals & the passenger side is behind the center console so they blow at different angles. If your feeling for air behind the console on the driver's side you will only feel a slight breeze.

I just noticed this behavior this morning. It seems that the actuators that directs flow between the defogger and driver's floor isn't working. When I set it to floor, the drivers side is much weaker than passengers side. Also, there is a good amount of flow coming out the center section of the windshield defogger. When I set it to just defogger, the flow to both sides of the floor is stopped and flow through the defogger is pretty strong.

If you pull down the fuse panel cover on the drivers side you can see an actuator (yellow thing) behind the floor duct move when you press the floor button. There seems to be another actuator (yellow thing) next to it that doesn't move no matter what I press. I bet that opens flow to the defogger and it's stuck open

Herm... I may have to have the dealer look at mine then. When I have it on the face, it blows GREAT! However, as soon as I add the feet, it drops down to hardly anyflow. It seems like the fan that is set to 7, drops down to like 1.5. I expect some sort of degradation since it's pushing the same amount of air through more outlets, but the amount of the drop is ridiculous.

You all my not be happy with were it blows when it blows were it blows, but you can bet your sweat bippy it blows ice cold air. When air flow is split there is a normal reduction in air flow force. Still ice cold. In fact air is colder on slower air speed than faster.

My one big complaint about my ranger is the air conditioning. I live in Florida and keep it at 68 but it just does not seem as good as my previous vehicle. If I let it go on Max AC for 10 minutes first then it seems okay, but still not the best AC I have had in a vehicle. Moving up north soon, so maybe getting out of the Florida sunshine will make it better

The AC is ok but certainly not great. Ford needs to improve this for MY2020.

I have the same issue when blowing out of bottom vents. Hardly anything comes out. Anyone take theirs to the dealer yet?
