Those aren’t Fox shocks, but yeah the stock “FX” shocks are well known to be soft.

ive been wondering who makes the fx shocks. I assumed monroe or Gabriel. But, someone mentioned rancho and that would seem in line with the quality of the one shown in the video clip lol.

I think the fx4 are made by Rancho but I'm not at all positive. My front ones where leaking oil at the top when I swapped for Bilstein 5100s
Sounds right. Rancho makes a lot of Ford's truck shocks through their models and years.

I put Rancho shocks on my 1st pickup, back then they where quality. Now it seems they are mass produced and low quality. I was shocked how bad the fx4 shocks rode when I got the truck. Happy with the other things that came with the package though.

idk if i got used to the fx4 suspension or if im losing feeling from the jarring lol but lately they do not bother me like they used to. maybe they get broken in and work better with some miles? i just rolled 20k. Maybe i just broke them and they work better broken...
on one occasion i did top a sand dune in the river valley with a lil bit too much go pedal. i was not trying to be foolish, just trying to keep the moment up since i was on sand... when i got to the crest of the dune the other side had a very well camouflaged drop down spot. it hurt. hit my head on the roof, cheetoos and mountain dew flew out of the junk food cubby. thankfully nothing was opened yet or the interior would be trashed.

If they are that bad and you are at 20k, how have you not replaced them yet?

i bought all the stuff to replace them but havent been able to afford to get it installed and alignment done, sadly. all the parts are still in the boxes.

Have you at least done the rears? I had to wait 6 months after I did the rears to do the fronts. Now I am back at it again. This slope is too slippery, and Thanks to this site, so much fun.

nope all of it is sitting in the boxes still in my garage waiting. I even got the rear add a leaf springs so it will be a lift and not just a level. its sad.

Something to keep in mind. An OE shock that says Rancho is built to that OE manufacturer's specs. They are not the same as an aftermarket Rancho shock.
