Heart of Glass has always been one of my favorites.?
Still gets a lot of airplay, like the long version. Blondie toured last summer, but I read a review and Deb harry's voice ain't near what it used to be, saw a cool video recently on youtube with blondie covering ring of fire and meatloaf doing a cameo. Worth a watch.

Talking Heads are great - but I love Bonnie Raitt.
Green Light and nick of time are my favorites, she's considered to be one of the better slide guitarists

My new head unit goes to 30 and also I have a wide range EQ which really helps. I have my Ipod connected and it sounds good for factory system. I can thump the doors. The Filipinos be looking and must be thinking "look at this old white dude rocking out". I was at gas station and had Sweet Child of Mine cranking, they were smiling big time.
???

Yeah, I love cranking the B.O. at the gas station--sure beats listening to the piped-in commercials most places have blaring nowadays!

Just don't be like the idiot who hit my neighbor! He had his music so loud, he didn't even know he'd run into her. Then he gets road rage when she gets out to look at the damage. The saving grace was, the car behind him was an unmarked police vehicle!

12 is my default volume for the B.O. I then go up or down depending on the song...
Where do you have the fade set? When I have the fade at the default which is behind the front seats, I agree that 12 would not be that loud.

While I never really crank up the music in my Ranger (it really needs an amp to wake up the aftermarket speakers. Coming soon...), I do occasionally rock out in the Jeep, which means cranking the volume to an 8 or 9 out of 30. I really need to lower the gain of the amps so I have a finer control of the volume.

That said, I ALWAYS turn the volume down at a stoplight, or if I'm getting gas, or basically anywhere that it would be loud to a bystander.

Nothing irks me more than sitting at a light and my mirrors start rattling due to the stereo 3 cars away. Or getting gas and someone pulls up blaring some awful song and then leaves it blaring the whole time they're pumping.

I have come to the sobering conclusion that not everyone is as enlightened as I am and doesn't necessarily enjoy the same eclectic mix of Rock, Christian Rock, New Age, Classical, Country, and 80's 90's Pop that I do. Even though they certainly should ?

While I'm fully aware that my music collection is the best, others have not yet attained the level of clarity of thought to appreciate it. So I don't blast it to them.

My stereo is for my enjoyment. Not everyone else's.

Truth! Or when someone pulls up in front of a convenience store, radio blaring with a crappy stereo, windows down, and they leave it on as the casually go inside in no hurry whatsoever.
And how about those people who are pumping gas the whole time their door is open with the key in the ignition. Ding...ding...ding... for about 10 minutes!

Since rocking out in your vehicle is becoming the theme of this thread, I will add another story.

Back in college, I drove an 84 Grand Wagoneer, and I installed a high powered Alpine stereo with Stillwater Design kickers. Good stuff back in the day.

I was listening to a local classic rock station when I pulled up behind a line of cars at a very long stoplight. The song that started was "Frankenstein" by The Edgar Winter Group. The guy in front of me was obviously listening to the same station, and for the duration of the stoplight, which seemed like half the song, I watched as the guy played air guitar and used his dash as both the keyboards and drums, head banging the whole time. It was one of the funniest things I ever witnessed.

So what you’re saying is that your music taste is equivalent to those of us who have tailgate dampers. “ Others have not yet attained the level of clarity of thought to appreciate it “

Maybe, but in a nice way to avoid upsetting some folks.

Recalling a news story out of Jax, FL years ago.

A group of 'teens' pulled up to a convenience store in an Escalade blasting their trash all over the place. A 'citizen' and his wife were parked next to them, asked them to turn it down, words were exchanged, guns were drawn, citizen was quicker and proceeded to shoot dead one of the teens.

Citizen and wife drove away from the scene unfortunately. Citizen was eventually found , arrested, tried, and is serving a term for 'hate crime'.

Use good judgement out there folks!

Any louder and it would be a huge distraction and you'd probably have a hard time parking.....Oh Wait?:lipssealed:?
For the record, I turn my radio down or off when parking/backing up for exactly that reason. It is a distraction and I can't focus well with a lot of loud noise.

I have your back, @Tracy Bowman ;)
