Nice, they're gonna be sweeeet
They should be a big help. Now I just need to figure out the fronts and I really like the remote reservoir options the more I look into it. A big change from the OME and 5100 I was originally looking at.

Here's what I got.
Icon extended travel = 5.25" stroke
King extended travel = 5" stroke
Bilstein 5100 = 4.67" stroke
Oem strut = 4.25" stroke
Fox dsc = 3.98" stroke

I wanted king because of the reputation I heard of, but icon got my money because they were available and took less than 24 hours to get to me. I value that, and after researching the company and the manufacturing processes and materials I stand behind them until I see different.

Here's the only info I got on the Kings stroke length.

Dang that's cool man the reason I went with icon was because of the whole king backlog. Good for you, I hope they are a great improvement to your truck.
Haha thanks! I ordered my first set from stage3 it said 6-8 weeks i was ok with that i waited for a while then my buddy orders some for his 4runner and he told me his wait is 8+ Months so i got curious and called about mine and they hit me with the worst news 8+ months then why does your website say different?? So i cancelled it and called around like 12 shops and found one in NY that had them so i swooped them real fast. I was so close to buying the Icons that you have but i found the kings. I love Icon i had really good experience with them on my taco. And my some of my friends only run Icon on there 4runners. I wanted to try something different. Also I ordered quite a few things from stage 3 and even thought the parts are quality there service is not so good. When it comes to cancelling or returning something be ready to pay a “restocking fee” and pay for shipping even if its a mistake on there side. And they really need to remove the false in stock or shipping in dates because the reason why i bought alot of stuff from them is because of the times “promised” to ship

Nice to hear about the icons, this is the first time I've heard about them, but I'm young so I haven't had too much experience yet. Sounds like you did some diggin'!! Haha I've spent countless hours researching too, good to hear that you found some tho.

For stage 3, I placed my seventh order with them today and so far they are all delivered quickly, but I haven't ordered anything that said not in stock yet. I have watched the total in stock number drop by one on the last few ordered I'll go to the page for shoots and giggles to see if it updates and it does. Sorry to hear about your bad experience but they seem to be on the ball so far. All it takes is that one time to piss you off you know what I mean haha. The king backlog is crazy! Icon is scooping up all of that business, they sure did get mine!

Thats true about Icon taking Kings customers. Covid bs aside someone with reputation like kings and the demand you would think they would be on top of things

I picked up some king 2.5s 3 weeks ago from sport compact warehouse they were at my door in a week
That is a awesome site. Kings are not available there today. They don’t even list King as a manufacturer of anything in stock. Back to long lead times.

Shows 3 in stock. All you need to do is call them and ask if they have the adjustable in stock or the ET extended travel. Thats what i did

Your Google fu is strong Daniel san. I searched for 2021 ford ranger lariat and their database doesn’t like that combination, that is why I was getting zero inventory.

Warning is on the bottom of pic using a different search to find item for the king shocks.

But it’s a good idea for me in the future to cross check the part numbers with the manufacture to see if they do fit by searching older year rangers. There are small differences like cast iron spindles for 2021 lariats. No more sexy aluminum ones.

Thanks for the reply. ??

Looks like quite a bit of positions. Hopefully this will help with the backlog.

Thanks for this info. I've been trying to search for this as well. I'm shocked the Fox has a shorter stroke than the OEM struts.

For those with experience on Rangers, how do these stroke lengths translate to real world use? In off road situations I understand that longer travel will keep your tires on the dirt better for traction. Is that the main advantage?

Thanks, I'm hoping for the King 2.5 Ext.

Also,

A few months ago I talked to a guy named Adrian at icon. We talked about getting more travel out of my coilovers and he said that I could take out the little spacer inside I think he said it's .8 inches (I have it written on a journal somewhere).

In general one of the biggest advantages of a longer travel is you can(as long as there is room for such) run a softer spring. How so? Well for example if your front strut with a 2 inch lift requires a 200 lb/in spring to maintain ride height but you make some changes that will give you some more travel and maintain the same height and the spring length becomes bigger as well then you might beable to lower the spring rate to help give better ride quality.

With that said between FOX 2.5, King shocks and the Old Man EMU BP-51's along with the ICON 2.5 shocks I'm sure they will all do what everyone needs. The only question is are you trying to hit the BAJA?

This is an update to Superdannyboy’s findings.

I contacted King to find out the compression and extended length of the ext. King coilovers (25001-386-ext) for our truck and these are the measurements.

The Ranger front coil overs measure 21.8” extended and 16.1” compressed. They have a total stroke of 5.3”.

I wanted to find out so I can run either the 6” or 8” universal King coilovers.

Thanks for the update. I bought my icons when king was having an 8 month backorder. I wish the lower mounts on my bajakits lower arm were pushed out to fit a 2.5x10" king coilover.
