My dealer is so horrible that the idiots in the parts department give me a price well above MSRP. I then show them Fairway Ford prices and they shed their idiot skins and match those prices which are well below MSRP.
It really pisses me off that they won't even quote me an MSRP but up to $100 over on some things that are not that expensive. For instance, my hood deflector was like $75 at Fairway and my dealer tried to charge me 180 I think it was. Ridiculous.
On a side note on those points, Ford Pass gave me 11,000 points just because of malfunctions with the app. I never said anything about it so they did that on their own which also shows about their tracking.
Also, isn't that performance pack about $850? I also saw the other day that if you don't run high octane fuel in it and have bigger than 265/70/17 tires, it voids the warranty. Can anybody validate this? I was about to go into get that but having to run a high-octane all the time is a turn off for me. It cost me a little over $20 difference in a tank full and a full tank for every week is an extra $80 a month.
I just reread the OP and saw that it was a Ford visa on the points. I'm going to leave my reply the way it is just for the additional info there.
I've purchased a few Ford parts from other dealers and usually pick them up from my local dealer for the same reason, they try to charge me crazy prices. I asked them about purchasing the Ford performance tune and they said they don't install them there. It's literally just dropping in a new air filter and flashing the ECU

Sorry, I lost track of that thread. thanks for the reminder.
Not yet. I need to Get my points from buying the truck before I can use them.

The truck is sitting at a railroad yard 100 miles from me, but its still needs to go another 150 miles to get to the yard that delivers to the dealer :(.
Let's hope the dealer set-up guy isn't starting a 10-day Covid quarantine the day it does arrive.

It sounds simple enough, but a dealer must meet certain criteria for service tech training, tools, shop equipment etc. to be a Ford Performance Dealer.

Understandable, and I understand that they have to install in order to keep under warranty. Just means I have to drive further to get it done.

So I figure I can save a couple hundred dollars doing it ourselves if I don't get the warranty?
$850 for the dealer to do it. So, $200 to buy the warranty for them to do it?

I would check further on that. Looking through For Perf.'s where to buy page, there are a number of parts only places listed. Maybe the warranty is shorter, maybe not.

Maybe I need to look at this more. I was under the impression that if I install myself and there is a problem with the vehicle they could say it was because I didn't have them install the tune. I guess they would have to prove that and flashing a stage 1 tune is very hard to mess up lol. Man my WRX a couple years ago was easy to modify, accessport tunes, full turbo back exhaust and a couple Dyno tunes. Took everything off and put it back to stock and flashed the ECU back to stock, then sold it back to Subaru for a fair price. They didn't even test drive it. I'm less familiar with Ford and warranty

I would recommend going to the Ford Performance web page and read the warranty. It does not need to be installed by a Ford dealer to get the warranty, any ASE certified tech can do it. Also, the warranty is from Ford Performance not Ford.

I installed the tune myself on my Ecoboost Mustang. My son is an ASE certified tech and manages a tire and service center. He generated a receipt for an hours labor and I took a copy of his ASE certificate. I emailed the receipt, the purchase receipt and his ASE certificate to the email address in the FP warranty document. I had an email confirmation back from FP in a couple of hours confirming that the warranty was registered to my vin.
