Three months on the factory battery and then the dealer replaced it as I brought the truck in when the auto start stop no longer worked (same canary in the coal mine as others have reported).

The replacement motorcraft battery lasted about 2 years before auto start stop failed to function once more. I replaced it with an odyssey battery and am hoping I get more than 2 years out of it…

I suspect not driving it as much as I normally would because I worked from home for a bit could have accelerated the demise of the original motorcraft replacement.

The Ranger is okay so far, coming up on 3 years old, but in other vehicles I've owned after 3 years they're on borrowed time.

I bought my Ranger in Dec 2019, though it was put in service as a loaner by the dealer in May 2019. Just a note, I live in ā€œhotā€ Southeast Texas. I started having trouble with the battery in Oct ā€˜21. I finally got a Ctek battery maintainer and have been using it as needed. I am retired so I don’t drive it long distances very often…just local trips pretty much every day. I finally took It to be checked at NTB today, and low and behold, it needed to be replaced.

I got an Interstate with 3 yr free replacement warranty and I hope it lasts longer than the OEM! I asked them for the H7 battery that goes in the Lariat, but they came back and said it wouldn’t fit, so I got another H6. The truck has the 302a trim with Technology pkg so I’m sure that’s not helping.

Just curious if my experience with the OEM battery is typical.
96,000 miles so far...

My Ranger is on the original battery and I've owned it for 3 1/2 years. I don't drive it every day and when I do ASS is turned off. I am happy that it has lasted but now that I say this, the battery might just die because I mentioned it. :frown:

My2020 XL lasted 15 months. Dealer replaced it under warranty.

I suspect the battery in my Nov 2019 Ranger is getting close to the end, I haven't seen the autostart kick on in a couple of months now.
My 2017 Durango is still working great, autostart and all.
I am on a Subaru Ascent forum and 1 year seems to be a rare achievement for their battery (at least for the ones that complain about their battery dying)

It's 3yrs for me this month and no issue. However, it's been pampered its whole life so far. And only 12K.
This month I'll get it state inspected and ask for a battery tester put on it. I'll report back if it's failing.

My 2019 XLT is still on what I believe to be the original Motorcraft battery. I bought it used (well, certified pre-owned) in June of 20 with 12K miles on the clock, so while it could have been replaced, nothing in the glove box or on CarFax indicates it was changed. I now have 31K on the vehicle, and the battery hasn't wheezed yet. But... the auto stop/start only works intermittently, which, while being fine with me, I will keep an eye on it and be prepared.

Reading these reports of premature batt failure made me think I had inadvertently logged onto a Tesla forum. :giggle: Time to put the trickle charger on the Ranger.

Took delivery in May, 2019. Battery is still working fine, but I have noticed lately that the ASS system doesn't kick in as often (not that this is a bad thing). I suspect this is due to the start of a downward slide of the battery. We'll see.

I bought mine July 2019 and I am still using the OEM with no issues thus far and I live in cold winters Colorado.
