Good for you that insurance covered it. I have the same problem since I live in the woods and was worried if insurance or warranty would cover it if and when they get to the wires.
I had a couple mice get in but they come in through the rear underseat compartment (where the tire jack kit is). Luckily they only chewed up insulation and left droppings in the cab. I put the green poison traps in there and under the passenger seat and haven't had any problems since. Also no longer kill the snakes now when I see them. But I'm going to pick up that repellant spray too.
