Doesn't your Ranger already have a Tachometer? There will be no way to connect a single wire to get a signal for your Tachometer. You will need to get a device that can plug into the OBD port to communicate with the PCM

last time I checked, yes "it already has a tac". like I said, this is a noobie project. " There will be no way to connect a single wire to get a signal for your Tachometer", thats nonsense. the PCM is sending the single threw some wire to get to the cluster correct? then there is a wire I can tap into, you just don't know which one it is, which makes me wonder why you even bothered to reply. anyone else?
