My smoked mirror signal lights have been a nice upgrade with the yellow LEDs but some time ago I purchased some LED versions with the eventual goal of swapping them out.
The lights plug into the bulb socket via a pigtail and when I tried them the connection wouldn't work. They didn't look too weatherproof either, so back in a box they went.
Ive been meaning to spruce up my connections to the turn signals lights in the Suma mirrors and put the new lights in, but it turns out the pigtails in the replacement lights are poorly affixed.
I was able to pry the housings apart since the adhesive was soft.
I actually have two sets so I'll be modifying the factory wiring. No turning back.
You can see where the leads were soldered. So I replaced the scrappy leads and then siliconed the wire in place.
They probably still need to be handled carefully but I'll see how they hold up. (Not installed yet, just tested with a nine volt battery and a free hand)
