As others have said clay is probably your best do it your self solution. I had a super duty that was white platinum tricoat. It got black paint over spray all over the hood and one side. I tried various compounds with a buffer and several chemicals to no avail.
Ended up with a clay bar kit and it worked well. Took some time and effort, super dutys are BIG. I use a clay mitt now as an occasional deep clean. If the mitt doesn't do it, you might try the actual clay bar as a last resort. Good luck.

Has anyone had the misfortune of driving thru road paint?? I did the other day unknowingly…. When I got out of my truck I thought it was road grime but upon further investigation I had white paint all over the entire passenger side of the truck, wheel wells (front and rear), tailgate and rear bumper, front and rear tires and rims 🤬 I have looked on the inter web for ideas to get it off but no joy as of yet.

I really think I am going to have to repaint the entire side of the vehicle W/insurance claim. I still can’t believe this happened %$#%^

@DukeCanBuildit @airline tech @AzScorpion hell I even ask @Frenchy for help 😂
Try wax and grease remover the kind that body shops use before they start sanding a vehicle for paint. The cheap stuff at a auto part store is not very strong. You will think this is crazy, but easy off oven cleaner is what pro pin stripers use to remove pinstriping on custom cars when they are doing a new design. It will not attack the clear coat, but it does remove the paint even pin striping that is years old. Try in a lower area first use microfiber towel one to apply and rub in and then one that you can spray paint detailer on to follow up after the oven cleaner. I shit when a pinstriper told me this because I was having my 40 Ford pinstriping redone. I burned thru the paint in one spot using rubbing compound and a buffer tried the easy off and it came right off with a bit of rubbing with a microfiber. All this talk of rubbing and the other posts about lubes and gamecocks kinda gets a guy worked up.

Youtube has several videos on this.
I typed in "how to remove road paint from car finish".
I only watched a couple of them, but they looked promising. For those that don't follow instructions (no one tells ME what to do ) you can't beat a good video.

acetone on the plastic bits with water towel wipe after EVERY paint removal swipe. For the paint portions.... get the finest sandpaper offered like over 2000 grit or higher and a block sander and semi-slowly in one direction shave off the paint spray. After you're happy with the results you could polish buff the area as it will likely have a hazzy look. Do not rush as your goal is just to remove the over spray and not dig past the clear coat... even if you do. A quick spray-can of aerosol clear and a wet sand will make it look flawless.

Just remembered I used PB Blaster several years ago and it worked great.

Did an AI search to make sure I wasn't dreaming and this is the result.

PB Blaster has been reported as effective for removing paint overspray, particularly when used in combination with a higher-end carburetor cleaner. According to a forum post, spraying PB Blaster followed immediately by a carburetor cleaner can break down the overspray, allowing it to be wiped off easily. This method has been successfully used to remove rust-proofing resin goop in engine bays, which shares similar adhesive properties with dried paint overspray. Additionally, PB Blaster has been noted to work well on dried-on compound or polish, especially when applied to mouldings or hard-to-reach areas. While the effectiveness may vary depending on the surface, it is generally considered safe for use on paint, metal, and plastic when used appropriately.

And from the PB website...

PB will not affect a factory-quality finish. Lower quality re-paints may be affected. We recommend testing on an inconspicuous area before using PB around such a finish.

I wouldn't have ever have known PB Blaster could be used for excess paint removal. That's a handy little piece of information to have.

I had a similar experience some years ago. That paint is difficult to get off, definitely get on this as the longer it cures the worse it will be.
I used a good DA buffer and rubbing compound, then polishing compound before final waxing.
Be careful not to buff through the clear coat.

Go to chatgpt.com and ask "How do I successfully remove road paint from my truck?" It might surprise you.

Yeah, I don’t trust it. I’d likely get the question badly worded and end up engaged to some weird AI Companion.
