Screw the King's decree on HAM licenses.

When you really need a radio the government won't be very operational anyhow.

Its like a convicted felon using a gun to save his life.

If a weather or civil event occurs that fudges stuff up for a period the King be damned if communications means my survival or others.

File this one under civil disobedience.

I get it there are the equivalent of Call of Duty radio comm jerks out there who will broadcast on critical channels, but some HAM operators are literally snobby rats for the government as volunteer monitors. Besides some specific situations, this is the epitome of a victimless crime if you SPEAK over a HAM channel.

As a semi-new HAM (obtained tech license back in '17). It's absolutely nuts how elitist & rude a fraction of the HAM community are. It's a shame that such a small vocal minority of a hobby group can be such trolls for newcomers.
**Will add pics of my current mobile UV-5R system this evening after a final piece of kit comes in*

Switched out the Baofeng mount for a variant that allows extended battery packs to be used. Also added BNC connectors to allow for quick disconnecting when using as a HT with the Nagoya 771 antenna.

So the plate attaches to the body above the vent and the seat has room to latch with the radio on top of those existing brackets underneath the carpet? Trying to get my FTM-300 in the same place.

I used a Lido seat bolt mount for the control head. Like the F150 it was a piece of cake to install. I thought I had ordered the 22" but got the 28". I may get the 22" and swap them out.

Did you have to do anything the lido mount that goes on the seat bolt? My metal mount brackets don’t seem long enough to clear the plastic, etc.

I just wish there where better hidey holes in these trucks. My old f150 had so many empty places or hollow areas behind the dash. I just cant bring myself to putting anything up there. I miss a CB tho.

I notice that too. I have a Midland 575 gmrs radio hidden under the steering column and have a Midland 75-822 CB. Both of them have everything in the handset.

What annoys me more is the lack of accessory power in the cabin or under the hood. It would be nice to have a circuit that is hot when the screen (radio) is on.
