I just bought a new Ranger and am installing my radio and sorta taking my time. I had a F150 and ran my power from the battery under the truck and then up through the Cabin Air Exhaust Vent, rear of cab drivers side. The ranger has the same vent so I brought the power in that way. I've got the Lido under seat bolt mount for the control head but am not happy with the positioning just yet, still working on that. As soon as my headache rack gets here I'll put the antennas on it and bring the coax into the cab the same way. You can look at the pictures here of my F150 and see how I had the radio mounted behind the seat. I'm going to have to cut that piece of aluminum down a bit but there are two nice brackets just below the vent that I'm going to mount it too. https://ka5cvh.com/p/?radio_mobile_2018_F150

Been a little busy. Finally got the radio mounted last night. I have a piece of aluminum I've used in three vehicles now for mounting the radios on. You can see all the holes from previous vehicles and radios. There are two factory "brackets" just below the vent. I suppose they are for the upgraded stereo system amplifies. I bolted onto them, removed the child car seat bracket above the vent and used that spot & bolt for securing the top. Hopefully tonight I'll get the control head cable ran and get it powered up.

I used a Lido seat bolt mount for the control head. Like the F150 it was a piece of cake to install. I thought I had ordered the 22" but got the 28". I may get the 22" and swap them out.

Here's my radio. I ran the power cable directly from the battery then through the firewall on the passenger side, and mounted the main radio under the passenger seat so I can hear the speaker loud enough. Using Lido mount as well for the face and the mic. - 73

I considered that mount for the head and put it there and I also considered buying that dash mount from BuiltRight Industries and put the head back on the FT8900 and mount the entire radio up on top of the dash.
