Had to use an air impact with a 750 ft lb and impact socket to get it tight enough.
Not everyone is that disciplined ... or at least not until they've had a trailer stolen.
Does anyone else tack weld the nut to the draw bar? I saw a security demonstration put on by a PD where they were talking about trailer thefts. You can put any draw bar and tongue lock you want on your trailer but all you have to do is just take the chains off put a wrench on the nut on the...
I tend to suspect as other indicated that he may have lost "fuel oil suction" (old Navy term). I know that many if not most vehicles the gas pick up tube sits down in a bit of well and if at that angle he was in there many not have been enough fuel in the well for the tube to pick it up.
just make sure that your aftermarket hitch receiver is rated for well over what you intend to tow. as
I just looked it up to be sure ... I thought the receiver I bought was 7000# but its actually 8000# ... so yeah ... I'm good to go in that regard.
Thanks for validating my suspicions. Just wanting to make sure that the dealership wasn't trying to blow smoke where it doesn't belong and there was something else I needed to be aware of. I've already put a 8000# 2" receiver on it. BTW its a XLT / FX2.
Need some advise. First I do have some experience with towing, just don't claim to be any kind of an expert. I bought a 2021 Ranger back at Christmas (2018 F150 got totaled). It does not have the "official" towing package but the dealership "assured" me it was capable of the 7500 # limit with...
that stopping/starting the engine 40-50 times a day is good for the truck.
You have it wrong ... IT IS GOOD . for those who get to replace the starter more often than necessary. Just not good for the person paying for it.
I use to work out in NM a lot and drove my company car from Houston, (caught a couple of things going out and back) and found that running ethanol free gasoline which is quite plentiful (at least then) in NM I was getting 32-33 MPG in a 3.8L V6 Taurus, where around SE Texas I was only getting...
I have never reset Trip 1 since the day it rolled out of the dealership. That way I know what my lifetime MPG is. Right now its ~22MPG over ~8000 miles. Trip 2; I reset every time I fill up. That way I can see what I've done short term on just that tank. It hasn't been on a long trip yet and...
Good point ... many people don't realize that all ethanol basically does is dilute the BTU content of your gasoline. Its the BTU's that produce the energy to move you down the road. So less BTU's per gallon ... the more gallons it takes, resulting in less MPG.
2021 XLT FX2 ... My commute is ~11 miles each way, Mostly city boulevard type roads. Mostly 40 MPH short run of 50 MPH. I average ~21 MPG around town and I've seen ~26 on the highway, sustained ~70 MPH. Now if I push it over 70 it drops off to about 23 @ 80 MPH.
What could go wrong?

If there was a small round (4"or so) that I could put on the rear window ... maybe.
I have to disagree with you here. First fusing the wire at the battery and having fuses in the power pole buss is just fine. The fuse at the battery only serves to protect the wire between the battery and the power pole buss. Nothing more ... nothing less. The larger diameter wire will...
